This was not how it was supposed to be. I've imagined this moment over and over, and it had never happened like this.

One of my favourite was moment was I were I was walking in to school for a new academic year. I went into my class, and there was a figure at the back of the room. He was new, his eyes guarded. He looked up, and then I knew, he was my mate.

This was nothing like that.

My mate had me chained up, my clothes dirty. I could tell he had been watching me from behind the glass. His eyes were hard, his body rigid as he looked into my eyes. I averted my gaze, not looking at him. I didn't want him to see the different feelings I had within me. The love I felt immediately, love, which I gave no permission to exist, especially towards him. Then I felt anger, I felt more rage than I have ever felt before.

"Hello, Mate." I said. Then tried to process the fact that he was my mate, someone who was supposed to love me, yet he had me here. Although I didn't not enough about vampires, I didn't believe he had the ability to love. His eyes only spoke of a cold anger, a reflection of mine.

His eyes widened, and then he glared.

"Exit." He said, to everyone around his. Within seconds we were the only one in the room.

"Well, this is interesting." I studied him. He had a suit on, all black, which looked like a second skin. His eyes were an exotic ocean blue, his hair was dark, and he was tall. He stood with an aura around him so fierce I wanted to take a step back. But I stood my ground, as much as I could, sitting with my hands tied behind me.

He turned and went to one of the many screens; the room looked like a hacker's paradise. My hands were suddenly released, and I raced to my feet. I swayed a little, getting use to being on my feet again.

"Why am I here?" I asked him.

"Rain..."

I cut him short, "Only my family call me Rain." I said with anger in my blood.

"Rain, you are here because you are important to the wolves." He said ignoring my snarl.

"Why do you want to get to the wolves?" I asked, I felt coldness down my spine as I thought of him hurting my family.

"No. I keep the alliance going." He said. I laughed.

"So you thought the best way to create an alliance was to capture the princess?" his eyes darken.

"I didn't capture you; those who captured you are dead." He smiled, as if reliving the moment he severed their heads. "I didn't want to hurt you, and I didn't want us to meet like this."

"Then why did I wake up here? Why not somewhere, I don't know nicer?" I asked, not believing him for a second. He took one of the chairs swiftly and sat down. The move might have looked rough; I knew he let me see a submissive side of him. He was sitting and I was taller than him in that moment. I looked down on him.

"You have been targeted by a group of vampires. I don't have control over all vampires. Most of them do what they want. I heard that they wanted war, they were tired of living under your family. They have been planning to take you. They seized their opportunity yesterday. I do not war; I just want to coexist with your family." He said. "I took you from them..."

"So why am I here, trapped like a dog?" I growled, but inside I laughed at the irony of the situation.

"But I didn't know how you would have woken up, so I placed you in here. You werewolves are very unpredictable. And with your linage you are strong; I couldn't risk the lives of my friends."
