We walked out of the dungeon and made our way up stairs. I was walking side by side with Leonardo, but we were not touching, I felt a bit sad that I still have not touched my mate. He made no move to touch me, and I don't know why. I have no clue what was going through his head, would I ever be able to speak to him in my mind? He was a vampire, how was the mate bond going to work? I had so many overwhelming questions.

My parents are going to freak when they find out, I'm not sure how my father's will react to my mate being the king of the vampires.

I started to have a panic attack, I couldn't keep walking. I felt like the walls were coming down around me, I have never felt this before. I suddenly felt deep isolation watching everyone else walking away. Leonardo noticed immediately.

"Out." he said when the others turned back and saw me in the state I was. They left the hallway. He finally reached out and touched my face. I immediately placed my face in his cool hands feeling the sparks, comfort which only a mate can give.

"Breathe in and out. Everything will be alright." He said, and I followed his instructions. Suddenly the walls were breaking down; I felt a wholeness I have never felt before. A wholeness which I thought I had. His arms were suddenly around me, holding me close to him and I smiled into his chest.

"Let's get to dinner and then we can talk after, you need food and then rest." He said holding me, I looked up at him and saw his smile and suddenly I was shook. He was so beautiful; his dark hair brightly intensify his blue eyes, which turned darker as he looked at me. I nodded and said,

"I feel better now. Thank you."

"I am your mate." He said, and suddenly I felt a rush of exhilaration. Although we spoke about being mates before, I felt as though he has didn't exactly claim me, so hearing these words I felt my world suddenly brighter.

"And I am your mate." I confirmed. He took my hand as we walked together to get the eat.

We were the last to enter the dining room. This whole place looked really majestic, the glass walls were so beautiful, I was able to look out and see the forest outside the windows and I suddenly felt peaceful.

I glanced around the table, there were two empty seats, at the head of the table and a seat next to it. It suddenly dawned on me that I was in a room full of vampires, and I was the only wolf. He held my hand, and I felt a strong sense of comfort rushing to me. I wonder if he knew what he was doing.

As I sat down, next to me was Chloe. Everyone waited for us to be seated before the food was served. The room filled with talking, I knew everyone could hear every conversation happening in the room at this point in time. Everyone began eating; it felt like I was surrounded by a big family.

"I thought vampires only drank blood." I said, it suddenly went quiet, and I saw Chloe trying to hold back a laugh. I suddenly heard a feminine laughter from the other end of the table, she was beautiful. Everyone who was smiling at the question I asked suddenly turned serious. The dynamics of the room changed. I felt the tip of my ears getting warmer.

"What a stupid question, did they not teach you anything in little pup school?" She asked, even her voice was beautiful. I closed my eyes as meditated for a second, thinking of how stupid she was. It could not have been more obvious that she felt threatened by my being here. I simply dismissed her and turned to my mate.

"We get all our nutrients we need from blood, yes." My mate said, and smiled at me also ignoring her, although I knew he would have a word with her later. There must have been something at some point in time; I'd have to ask him about it later.
