Alex tried to climb in my bunk and I helped her. She put her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist, careful to not push or pull out her oxygen kinda mask she had to wear.
Everyone thought we were together. But we weren't. We never would. We just were really close. Like my friendship with Ben. Everyone thought we were together, but we weren't.
Alex coughed and groaned in pain. I gave her a kiss on the forehead as she closed her eyes taking deep breaths.
When she calmed down, she took my hand and hold it in her tiny one.
-Do you think that I'm going to die soon? She asked taking me off guard.
-Alex...I began softly, but she cut me off.
-I want to hear the truth, Dennis! I want you to put the pieces of the puzzle together and tell me, if I'm getting worse! She explained.
-I don't know what to say!
She rolled her eyes.
-Just tell me, if you think I'm going to die soon! She replied.
-Yes. I mumbled.
She closed her eyes.
-Thank you! She whispered.
-For what? I asked her.
-For telling me the truth. She answered softly giving me a kiss on the cheek and climbing out the bunk with Cameron's help, who gave her a kiss on the forehead. Then he climbed in my bunk and closed the curtain.
-I heard your conversation! He began.
-And?
He looked at me with sad eyes.
-I'm proud of you! You told her the hard truth! That's better than a soft lie, trust me! He explained.
I nodded and closed my eyes.
-I don't want to loose her, Cam. I whispered.
-I don't neither. No one wants! Have some sleep, mate! You look exhausted!
-'Night Cameron! I told him as he climbed out my bunk.
-'Night buddy! He replied softly.
I closed my eyes and wrapped the sheets around me. But I couldn't sleep. Too many thoughts, positive and negative, were eating me inside. Tears stared to fall down my cheeks, but I wiped them quickly. I didn't want to cry, it was selfish.
After some minutes I realized that I wouldn't manage to fall asleep, so I climbed out my bunk and walked to the back lounge with my black sports shorts and a Pokemon T-Shirt that Alex had bought me. Ben and Sam were there watching a film.
-Can't sleep? Asked Sam and I nodded.
The guys made some room and I sat between them. I put my head on Ben's chest and my feet on Sam's legs closing my eyes and falling asleep on them.
