Alex informed us that she had just one week. She wouldn't survive more. She knew it, she could feel it. And we decided to split her last week in parts. Everyone had one day that would be her last with him. I was the first.
I climbed in her bunk, where she had closer her eyes trying to ignore the pain. When I wrapped my arms around her, she opened them and looked me in the eyes, waiting for me to speak.
-So, my plan for today is just staying in bed eating ice cream and watching movies! I told her and she nodded grabbing the cookies and cream ice cream.
I put Edward Scissorhands first. It was one of her favorites films. Then I put an action movie, which name I forgot. The last movie was our movie. In the end Alex was sobbing. And I was too.
Everything made me cry.
The sight of Danny in the film. The sight of my younger self. The sight of the guys. The sight of my best friend dying. Everything made me cry. I tried to stay strong for Alex, but I couldn't fight the tears. I simply couldn't.
Alex wrapped her arms around my waist and let me cry on her T-Shirt. She was crying anymore. She was trying to calm me down. And she made it after a while.
-Can I have the chocolate ice cream? I asked her casually.
She nodded and gave me the bucket with the ice cream and a spoon. I gave her a kiss on the forehead and thanked her.
While I was eating a lot of thoughts were running through my mind. That Alex hadn't kissed any one. She was still a virgin. She wouldn't get married. She wouldn't have a family. She wouldn't have grandchildren to tell them a story. Her whole family tree would stop. And that made me sad.
I looked at her. She looked at me. Then she stared crying softly. I wiped the tears with my small hands.
-I'm going to miss you! So much! She mumbled.
I hadn't realized that I had began to cry, too.
-I'm going to miss you, too! I love you, Alex! I whispered to her.
-I love you too,Ben! She whispered back resting her head on my chest.
