We can't flee, the exits are closed by The Port. We can't go to my house until we know for sure it's safe. We can't rent a hotel room because it's too obvious. I hate knowing that I can't protect Nikki right now. She had to protect herself and me. My job is to be there for her no matter what and now we are at the edge. Waiting for them to come, and for Nikki to unlock her abilities. It might be too late for her once they come. I know they will search for her soon. It's only a matter of time. Meanwhile she is talking to that guy she met earlier today and I'm here not making things any better. I just want to be there for Nikki.

Nikki. Such a lie. I never gave her the name. I never gave her a name to be exact. How she got that name is unknown to me. Her mother wanted Nikki to be a surprise, but it didn't stop her from choosing any names. Said if she had a boy wanted to call him Freddy. If she had a girl, wanted to call her Belladonna. Such a strange name, but so beautiful. I wish I can tell her, but how do I change something like that so easily? Changing life is hard but manageable. Changing a name is not so easy. It would be destroying the last thing she has from her normal life. Yet I wonder how it would have been if she was called Belladonna.

Here I am in this dirty awful smelling kitchen, and I can hear Nikki already laughing. I pop my head out, and see that the boy Jake, as Nikki said was his name, is 6 feet away from her. "You better not be doing anything you're not supposed to." I say raising my eyebrow.

I can tell Nikki is blushing and trying to hide it. "We aren't. We aren't even thinking about," She pauses. "that! Plus, do you actually think we would do that with you in the building?"

I can't help but smile. "Good point. Remind me not to leave then. And to put you two on opposite side of this room." Nikki blushes again and I turn back to go into the kitchen.
