Scott’s point of view
“I can’t believe it’s you!” I said hugging Kyle. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier!” I said punching him now.
“I thought you would have recognized me!” he said putting his hands up defending himself.
“Are you serious?! The last time I saw you was when I was saying bye to my brother when you both were leaving for basic training.” I looked him up and down. “You’ve changed a little bit.”
Kyle and my brother, Shawn were best friends growing up. Shawn was protective over me too, almost as much as my brother. They both joined the marines at the same time and have been battle buddies throughout their time there. I thought they were still together but I guess not anymore.
“How’s Shawn doing? Why are you here?” I asked a little scared for what he would say.
“I’ve been out of the force for awhile now, I promised your brother I would protect you and make you happy until he could come back. I knew I had to build up my reputation if I was going to be your bodyguard and on my first job I met Big and from there we decided to be partners.” He said looking at Big. “Your brother is doing fine. He’s not on the front line anymore. He’s moving up in ranks faster than anyone else. I wouldn’t be surprised if he will be a general soon.”
I didn’t even know what to say. I just looked at him and hugged him again. “I’m so surprised!”
“Now don’t go all bratty on me, Scott” he said messing up my hair.
“Jerk” I said swatting his hand away.
“Like I said, you aren’t alone.” I was smiling at him. “It’s my job to protect you and make you happy until Shawn can come back. Whether that means cracking some skulls or mending friendships I’ll do it.” I just looked up to him as if he were a superhero.
“Thank you” was all I could say. “Thank you both” I said looking back and forth between them.
“Well hurry up and open the rest of these so you can get ready for your charity event.” He said gesturing to the other boxes and letters.
I looked at all of them and then thought of a question. “Do I still have to call you Blade?”
Harry’s point of view
This past month has been hard. The concerts weren’t the same. I found myself scanning the audience to look for Scott but never found him. I felt like I wasn’t even in my body, it was as if I was hovering above my body watching myself. I still think about that night. I just want to know what Scott felt so I knew what I should feel. I just feel so lost without him.
The lads and I are currently in a car being driven too Scott’s charity event. I still cant believe he didn’t tell me about him having his own charity. Simon got us all an invitation to go and was telling us about it. He raises money for orphanages and for kids who lose their parents. Simon showed us a promo video for the event. It showed Scott going to different orphanages and hospitals visiting kids. He was hugging and talking to all the kids. Some clips of him playing soccer with them and throwing them around in the air. The final clip was him surrounded by a lot of kids hugging one boy “Please help make a difference. Everyone deserves a chance.”. I actually teared up watching it. I pictured Scott being the little boy and how alone he must have felt.
“Harry what are you planning to do tomorrow for your birthday?” Niall asked.
“I honestly didn’t plan anything” I said. I actually forgot about my birthday, I’ve just been out of it for awhile.
