Italy: Half Way Done

*Steven POV*

Our trip was half way done and Lauren was in a crappy mood the whole time. The article was eating away at her and people stared to harass her on social media. I caught her crying in the bathroom one night.
It's hard, we have this great thing, we love each other and now we have a baby on the way. Life is perfect. Then that pap that caught her at just the right angle and ruined it all. She barely had a bump at that time too.
I sighed and tossed in our bed, I knew Lauren was awake next to me despite it being two o'clock in the morning.
"You awake?" I heard her voice say softly.
I turned to face her, green eyes blinked at me sadly.
"Yeah, I'm awake," I replied.
"I'm so sorry," she said barely audible.
"It's not your fault," I said propping my head up with my hand, she copied my motion.
"I know, but I ruined this trip. I haven't let you enjoy anything," she said angrily.
"We're going to see the coliseums tomorrow. That has to count for something right?" I asked and she nodded. Little did she know I had something special planned.
"I'm excited," she said in a monotone voice. I knew she was excited, that's all she could talk about when we planned the trip. She just didn't want her mood to ruin it.
"That's what I thought," I said kissing her forehead. She gave me a small lip smile and turned from me. I wrapped my hands around her waist and sang softly into her ear, I felt her body relax and she sighed.
"You always know how to make me feel better," she said. I continued singing, despite her already relaxed mood. Soon after, her breathing evened out and she was snoring slightly. I smiled and stopped singing. I leaned my head over her body and looked at her face, she was sleeping just as I thought, she looked peaceful for the first time in days. I grabbed my phone and snapped a quick picture, it was mostly of her sleeping face but you could see my eyes just passed her head. It was cute nonetheless, I quickly edited it and posted it on both Twitter and Instagram, tagging her in both. Her charging phone lit up and displayed that I had tagged her. Lauren barely moved, I pulled her closer to me and quickly fell asleep.

"Morning," a heavenly voice said. My eyes blinked open wearily and soon met green ones starring down at me. Lauren smiled and pressed her lips against mine, I reached up and moved a piece of her long, soft hair behind her ears.
"Morning," I replied, she seemed to be in a happier mood. She reached over and grabbed her phone showing me the photo I took of her last night.
"Really?" She said with a slight, giddy smile. I smiled and nodded, rubbing my eyes.
"You looked so cute, I couldn't resist," I said sitting up. She rolled her eyes and got off of me.
I watched her as she walked into the bathroom and I soon heard the shower running.

I laid in bed for a while, just listening to the water running. I knew what was happening today and felt nerves grab hold of me. This was going to be a life changing day. 

Lauren walked out in just a towel, she quickly rummaged through the drawers for clothes; since we were staying here so long we decided to unpack our suit cases. I slowly rolled out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and jumped in, the warm water soothed my nerves. I got out after 10 minutes and dried myself with a towel, Lauren walked in, not bothering to knock. She did her makeup and I watched her lovingly. 

"You look gorgeous," I said with a wide smile and she blushed. 

"Thank you," She replied. I looked down at her outfit and nodded in approval. She wore ripped jeans, white tennis shoes, a black and white stripped loose shirt and a black blazer. 

I walked out of the room and quickly got dressed, wearing tan pants, brown boots, a white button up and my navy blue jacket. 

"Someone's looking handsome," Lauren said walking out of the bathroom. Her hair was dry and slightly curled now. I gave her a kiss and she smiled into it. 

"I love you," I said and she smiled widely before replying with, 

"I love you too."

"And I love you!" I said placing my hands on her stomach, she laughed and watched me intently.
