Lena

Saying everything hurt was an understatement. Her head pounded and pain gnawed at her side. Lena cursed trying to sit up, the windshield was shattered and the front of ship was crumbled. She had to get out of the cockpit, numbly Lena unbuckled the seat belt. Her vision was spotted and the cockpit swayed around her.

"Oh crap," Lena murmured pulling her hand away from her side. It came back dark red. Pulling up the bottom of the shirt she could see a piece of shrapnel that stuck in the left side of her stomach. It wasn't big, but it certainly wasn't good either.

Lena wondered what had happened. Everything had been going fine, she had gotten out of the hanger without being noticed. Lena remembered the strange feeling she had felt, she had felt it right before the guns tried to shoot her out of the sky. It was probably the only thing that saved her. The roar of the TIE fighters brought her back to situation at hand. Lena pulled her pack out of the floor and jumped out on the ground.

Her vision disappeared for a moment, pain shooting up her side. When it came back all that she could see in every direction was green. Limping away from the wreckage, the forrest was dense and thick, Lena knew it wasn't going to be easy but she needed to get as far away as possible. At least with the thick forrest it would be harder for the fighters to land.

Lena cursed as she pulled the backpack around her shoulders. The smallest movements made her wince.

She wasn't more than an 100 feet away when the fighters started to shoot randomly through the forrest. Lena broke out in a sprint, gritting her teeth. The forrest was full of a rocks and branches, each one was harder to get over than the last one.

As soon as she could, Lena ducked behind a tree, sweat already dripping down her chin. Lena tried to touch the gash on her side, but her hand was shaking too bad. It was like her body was trying to prevent her from touching it. She could feel the warm blood running down her leg, she slid down onto the ground. Behind her, the fighters kept shooting until the wreckage exploded behind her.

Lena jumped, the smoke curled in tendrils around the remains. In the distance Lena could see smoke from the back half of the ship. It had broken off first and splattered to the ground with a massive explosion. That explosion was another one of the few reasons she was still alive, the fighters went after that part first. That gave Lena enough time to regain consciousness before they came for her.

She waited until the fighters stopped shooting, she didn't want to do anything that might draw their fire.

Part of her wondered if Ben had betrayed her, if he had told people she was there. Lena shrugged the thought off, he wouldn't. That would expose him just as much as her. Plus she trusted Ben with her life, he wouldn't done that. She was certain of it. No, it was Lena's fault. She had acted impulsively, she should have noticed that it was too easy. All of it was too easy. Even from leaving the room, to getting into the hanger. It all went to well.

Suddenly the fighters found a target, but it wasn't Lena. They were shooting into the sky- at another ship. It was a small hover meant only for short term transportation, not fighting. However the passengers were heavily armed and kept firing at the fighter.

With a booming explosion one of the TIEs blew up and the other took off back into space towards the main ship in space. Lena tried to stand up, but the second she did her eye sight wavered and nausea threatened to overtake her. Her side was still bleeding too much to move and with every second she felt more lightheaded.

People were shouting from the hover. "Is there any survivors?" a deep voice shouted.

It sounded like someone was stomping around, whoever it was, they were getting closer. Lena lifted her head, about to call out to them then she stopped herself. Could she even trust them? They could be the resistance, but they also could be worse. They could be looking for new slaves, or factory workers.

She shuddered at the thought of being sold into slavery. Lena had heard stories about Leia forced into being a slave, more like prisoner, but all the same it frightened her.

But did she have a choice? She was going to die if someone didn't help her, Lena didn't have much time to consider the options.

"Hey," a girl's voice yelled back to the hover. "I found someone!" The girl rounded the tree, she looked close to Lena age but the double braids she was wearing that made her look much younger. The girl smiled, her bright red hair seemed to glow.

Lena wasn't sure what was real, her vision kept going in and out of focus making it hard to tell anything. Suddenly the girl cursed then rushed to her side, pulling Lena's shirt up enough to look at the wound. "I need help over here, now!" The girl kept cursing, each time getting louder. "Someone please!"

The girl pulled the pack off of Lena's shoulder and laid her back. "Who-" Lena tried but the girl cut her off.

"I promise your safe, we're with the resistance." The girl beamed, her teeth seemed to take over her entire face until all Lena could see was white which then faded to black. "Were losing her!" The girl screamed as someone lifted Lena's body off the ground. A string of obscenities was the last thing she heard before she went unconscious.
