Lola POV

Ever since having Jean, my life is completely different, with having no sleep and worrying every second that something could go wrong. I know that we have help but I want to be involved in as much of raising my son as possible. He is just so peaceful lying in the cot that once Francis's. It is hard to believe that only a year has gone by since arriving on French soil that my life is now different than I expected. I knew that Mary was going to be married but not myself as well. Especially to the man that she was supposed to marry. I now too have a beautiful boy that I love with all my heart. He is going to be raised in the beauty of a historical castle that holds so many royal memories and will continue to hold for hundreds of years. I always wanted the person I would marry to be an honest man, who cared about me as well as a family. Now not to brag but my life is set. I live in such a beautiful place that is protected by guards and have servants that could attend to any ned that I could possibly have. I like having them around but I do not want them to be relied on by me and Francis. We aren't King and Queen as of yet. I don't wish the death of Bash at all, but if it happens then what can you do. Unless he dies with Mary becoming pregnant then that is another story. Im still surprised that she chant yet conceived a child. They have been married for almost a year without an heir. Unless they are not intimate with each other then there shouldn't be a reason why they haven't atlas been pregnant. I hope that Mary isn't barren. She deserves to be happy like everyone else. Also having a baby strengthens her potential rule over England and strengthens her reign here in France. I can't worry about Mary right now. I hear Francis come in with Jean and my face lights up with happiness. " Little boy needed his mother." Francis tells me as I come in for a hug and he kisses my forehead. " Also, Mary and Bash are looking to talk to us for dinner. They would like us to meet them in the dinning room for dinner. " Francis tells me as he passes off our son to me. " Ok, I just need to finish getting ready as well as feed him. It should not very long." I tell him as I walk over to the rocking chair and sit down.

Francis POV

It is hard to believe that not so long ago I was unwed, and had the responsibility of running the country. But now, I am wed, have my own son and have no responsibility to run the country unless of the unlikely event that Bash dies without an heir to succeed him. Which is hard to believe that we now need to think about that very possibility. Soon enough as my thoughts were collected, I called for the wet nurse to take care of Jean. " Your grace, I am here to relieve you from your duties for how ever long you need. Your child is in good hands. " The wet nurse Grace tells us as Lola passes Jean over to her as she walks over to the rocking chair to see if she can help him sleep. Lola leans into me as he walk out of the nursery and into the hallway. " It feels like a relief that we can have time to spend outside the nursery and walk towards the dinning hall. Since the moment he was born, I have been scarred that something would go wrong, that he would die after birth, that he was already not alive and that we wouldn't make it back to the castle. But him living and thriving makes me so happy. He seems happy only being about over a month old now. Sooner than we think he will be crawling and walking around the castle, as well as the gardens. Him growing up means that soon that he will need an extra guard if Mary and Bash seem fit. I know he already has one but since he is the only royal baby in the castle, he needs extra protection. " Lola tells me as we hold hands, reaching the dinning hall. " Well, he can bring that up at as we talk to them at the meal. " I tell Lola as the door opens as Mary and Bash are sitting at opposite ends of the small table that it filled with delicious food. " Lola, Francis, come sit. We have much to discuss as family now. " Mary tells us as we sit on our perspective sides of the table. " We called you here to discuss the future of France's royal family. What the future means for the Valois line of succession. " Bash says as I am seated. " Of course you two have your son, a child who can carry on family name if needed but there is someone else who is going to also carry on the name. I am with child. " Mary says and the room becomes silent .
