Chapter 3:

Alison, Greer and I got into a carriage that seemed to be pulled by invisible horses or something. We travelled up to the castle and after entering the great hall, we split and Alison and Greer went over to the Ravenclaw table while I continued to the Gryffindor table where I slid into a seat between Lee Jordan and Hermione, facing Fred and George.

"Hey, Saph!" The twins called in unison while Lee punched me to get my attention.

"What?"

"Is it true that Harry and Ron are coming to Hogwarts in a flying car?" Lee asked with an air of wanting to know some serious gossip.

"Where'd you hear that?"

"Oliver Wood told Katie Bell that Cormac McLaggen told him that he overheard some little Ravenclaws talking about overhearing you talking to Hermione about them being in a flying car."

"Of course, always the gossiper, aren't you, Lee?" I joked. Fred and George snickered from across the table.

"Hey!" Lee protested.

"I just like to keep myself up to date on the happenings of Hogwarts."

"Sure," I muttered disbelievingly,

"And why didn't you just ask Hermione?" I gestured to the person beside me.

"They did, but we shouldn't be spreading rumours, Sapphire!" Hermione said.

"Well in that case..." I trailed off and Hermione looked at me like I was actually going to tell them it wasn't true.

"Yep, its true!" Hermione sighed but looked as though she shouldn't be surprised.

"What? How?" Fred and George asked.

"Well somehow the barrier stopped working so the stupid idiots crashed into it - not me though because I was going last - and so Ron suggested we take your dad's flying car. Then I jumped out while we were over Hermione's compartment and climbed in through the window. And now they're still in the car while I'm here." I reeled of the story in the shortest way I could.

"And I'm pretty sure that the llamas are going to make them crash the car." I added.

Everyone rolled their eyes at me. Even Oliver Wood who had been sneakily listening in. Then McGonagall came in with the first-years and the sorting hat sang it's song.

"Aarons, Aleisha," McGonagall called. A small girl with a high blonde ponytail and a big grin went and sat down on the stool. About five seconds later, the sorting hat yelled,

"GRYFFINDOR!" I clapped loudly with the rest of my table as Aleisha beamed and ran to sit at the end of the table, only a few seats down from me.

"Appleby, Hanna," McGonagall called.

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat yelled, almost as soon as it touched her head.

Hanna smirked and, flicking her blonde curls over her shoulder, she joined the applauding Slytherin table.

After Hanna, I zoned out for a bit until I thought I heard the name 'ice cream'. Turns out it was actually "Ivy, Keira" who got sorted into Hufflepuff. Well thanks for getting my hopes up. Grrr. I tried to talk to Hermione but she was too busy listening so I decided I would to that too. Bad idea.
