Catherina jolted awake after a terrible dream. A basilisk had been chasing after her, slithering through the pipes. It had petrified her, and left her to suffer. She shuddered.
Even though Catherina was a Slytherin, she was deathly afraid of snakes. Especially huge ones that could kill someone with a simple glance. Or, as they were called, basilisks. Catherina dragged herself out of bed and dressed in emerald green robes. The only thing that she liked about Slytherin was the colours. Then, she walked past the glass wall holding back the water of the Black Lake. Yet another thing Catherina hated about Slytherin. If the glass broke, not only would the common room and dormitories flood, it would also let loose hundreds of water snakes that were native to the lake.
At last, Catherina arrived at the Great Hall. She sat down with some friends at the Hufflepuff table. They chattered away around her as she thought about her dream.
Often times, her dreams turned out to be true, so she could only wonder what it meant. Maybe there was a basilisk at the school? No, she thought, that would be impossible.
Catherina spent her day going to classes mindlessly, paying no attention whatsoever. Finally, it was time to go to the party Nearly Headless Nick had invited her to. She suspected he had invited Harry because they were always talking, but she had no idea whether other live people would be there or not.
As soon as she entered the room, Catherina head a sound like fingernails were scraping on blackboard. Wispy shapes danced around, like they were enjoying themselves. Nearly Headless Nick called out to her, "Hello, Catherina! Harry, Sapphire, Hermione, and Ron have already arrived. Go on and join them." He gestured to a clump of kids huddling near the food.
Catherina hesitantly walked over to them. A girl with dark brown hair and sky blue eyes asked, "So, you're Cat, right? I'm Sapphire. Nellie and Alley talk about you a lot."
At first she was a little confused, then replied, "Yeah. My friends call me Cat. You can call me Catherina, though."
"Why are you here?" asked a girl Cat believed to be Hermione.
"My mom's great-great-great-great-great-great aunt is the granddaughter of Nick."
With that, the conversation ended.
Cat walked around and hung out with various ghosts. She actually found it fun to hold conversations with them. Especially Nick.
Soon, the party ended. Cat was walking back to the Slytherin common room, when she heard an odd noise.
"You shall die," it hissed from inside the walls. "You will have a slow and painful death. Or you will join me."
Cat began walking quickly away from the source of the voice, but she suddenly realized it was all around her. She ran. Anywhere, she thought, anywhere is better than right here.
Eventually, Catherina ran right into Sapphire. "Oh, hi!" Sapphire said.
"Erm, hi. Did any of you guys hear a strange voice?"
At that, Harry's eyes lit up, "Yes! I just did! Hermione has been trying to tell me I'm going insane, Sapphire is being the wacky thing that she is, and Ron is really hungry."
"If you're going insane, then I am too." That probably wasn't very reassuring.
They all walked along the corridor, following the voices. "You shall join me!" the voice whispered, "Or you shall die!" Cat hoped Harry wasn't getting the same messages as she was. Of course, if he was, he would probably be as stalk stiff as her.
The frightened group of students crept around a corner. There, they were met with a horrifying sight.
Dark red blood dripped down the walls. Cat could barely make out words in the mess of it all. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, enemies of the heir beware," it read. Beneath the message was a pool of water. All Catherina could think of was that the water probably saved someone's life. Her gaze wandered, as she suddenly saw a huge main coon cat hanging by its tail slowly swinging back and forth.
As students crowded around the scene, Filch arrived, thinking that Harry had killed his cat. Luckily, Dumbledore arrived and told him that Mrs. Norris had only been petrified.
Only petrified! Cat thought, if it really was a basilisk that did it, Mrs. Norris could have just as easily been killed, meaning that the entire school was in danger! And what on earth is the Chamber of Secrets?
A girl with caramel brown hair, black, thick-rimmed glasses, grey eyes, and a Gryffindor uniform who was probably a second year slid beside Catherina. When she spoke, her voice was hardly louder than a hoarse whisper, "Are you my enemy, or am I yours?"
In that moment, Cat realized that not only had the girl given away her secret, but she also knew Cat's.

Hey guys, sorry it has been forever!! Like legit a whole month!
So here are my excuses for being a lazy shit:
-It is the end of the school year in NZ and I have junior exams.
-I have running on Mon; drama on Tues; horse riding on Wed; rowing on Thurs; running on Fri; and rowing on Sun.
-I am lazy
-My laptop is being a shit
-The one time I had time to write was the one time I completely forgot the last chapter
-I have no more excuses.
Oh, another thing, I have decided that seeing as writing heaps of stuff out of the book makes me bored, but I need to for Untraceable, I am going to start just writing the main important dialogue and making everything else my version of what happens.
Also, there is this "new" (I haven't been on for ages so I don't actually know how new it is) stats thing that I can see for all my stories. Untraceable 2 has like massiveness for the first chapter and then it is like very small for the rest. So even though I am a lousy updater (I plan to change that this holidays), you should read the last few chapters :) :) :)
