Chapter 2 - Damn you..Tall grand trees whizzed past in the autumn breeze as its leaves danced in the wind. As branches waltzed with one another, I couldn't help but admire the scene before me; so simple, so beautiful. I found myself wishing to be a tree, to be carefree, to be anywhere other than this hummerzine.
As we drew nearer to school, my tummy seemed to burst with butterflies. Damn you nerves.
"I wonder if their cheerleading squad's any good," says Kimberly.
She was your typical Queen B material with golden hair and makeup executed to perfection. I wouldn't be surprised if she had the school wrapped around her finger by the end of today.
"Doesn't matter if they're good or not, they just have to be hot," Ethan said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Sometimes that boy could be such an idiot. Scratch that, let's be realistic and go with all the time. But I love him; especially since he usually does my calculus homework. He may be a notorious ladies man, but the boy could do calculus in his sleep. The only down side is doing his dirty laundry in return. Ugh.
People often couldn't believe we were twins. Unlike the identical Logan and Tyler, Ethan and I looked nothing alike. Like Rosa and Kim, he had a deep shade of misty grey eyes, whereas mine were hazel. Ethan's golden locks bounced full of life while my mahogany hair flowed down to my lower back. He towered over me like the gorilla that he is which was pretty annoying. Being the oldest, I would have appreciated height as an advantage but oh well, I wasn't too bummed; I could still kick his ass.
"Honestly Ethan, I'm clueless as to what girls see in you," I yawned.
"I second that," Kim agreed.
"Third," came from Rosabelle.
"Fourth," Logan and Tyler said simultaneously before shoving each other.
"Fifth," we heard John say from the driver's seat.
We all had to laugh at that.
"Oh come on! Thought you were on my side at least John. What happend to being homeboys?" Ethan groaned as John chuckled.
"And boys you're supposed to have my back!" Ethan said giving the twin terrors an unimpressed look.
"Nah dude, you're on your own with this one," Logan managed to say as he squirmed under the 'look' the girls were giving him.
If there's one thing we learnt from our mother, it's the 'look'. It's the secret weapon mom uses to get dad cleaning up after dinner. However, Emilee is both peculiar and amusing as she uses it to make Logan and Tyler play princess dress up with her. Now that's a sight you have to see.
"Useless," Ethan muttered as he flicked my nose before his eyes brightened.
"Lunch is on you if I prove my immaculate charm by getting a smokin' hot girl's number before first period," he challenged.
Before I could reply, I noticed we had arrived to school.
"Why couldn't you drop us outside the gate John," Rosa whined. She wasn't big on attention, and by the look of things, we were getting a lot of it. Maybe it had something to do with the conspicuous yellow hummerzine.
"Sorry Rosabelle, your parents' instructions," John responded.
"There's no way in hell I'm walking from the gate," Kim exclaimed giving Rosa a horrified look.
"Well no one told you to wear stilettos to school," Rosa replied as she rolled her eyes.
"It's fashion, something useful you can think about reading for a change."
