When Two Worlds Meet

Chapter 16

Previously in chapter 15 ...

The Jewel then began to give off a purple light, The Monks appearance changing as well

The Monk now had a purple stripe down each side of his face, an ingsignia on his forehead completing the look

The Monk then had an evil smirk on his face

"You can both die now!"

"Gurrrsh! Natsu....Inuyasha" Ginkotsu shouted

Nastu and Inuyasha had already taken off, ready to attack Ginkotsu once more

"This time you're going down, Ginkotsu!" Inuyahsa said while drawing his sword out

Ginkotsu started shooting sharp chains towards Inuyasha and Natsu, both still running forward towards Ginkotsu.

But then out of nowhere, Natsu had stopped running

As if paralyzed, Natsu was stuck to the ground, his green eyes widen

Inuyasha had blocked the attack, running towards Ginkotsu, jumping over his head, and then using his sword to take Ginkotsu down.   Soon after, Inuyasha then turned his head towards the temple...

"Huh..I smell smoke" Inuyasha said 

"Guys..do you smell smoke?..." Wendy asked the group

"No,why?" Kagome asked

'I knew it....I knew I smelled smoke..' ' Natsu thought  

Natsu then began to run towards the temple, Inuyasha right behind him, and the group following

'Happy, Kirara , Miroku....Lucy..are all  still in there..' Natsu thought

Once they made it to the temple's entrance, where there was a huge set of stairs to climb, Natsu and Inuyasha then paused. 

Once the group caught up with Natsu and Inuyasha, they had paused as well

The Monk stood at the top of the huge staircase, grinning, he began to laugh

It was a very evil laugh 

"Hahahah, I am Renkotsu of the Band of  Seven!" The Monk, now know as Rinkotsu, exclaimed 

The group was a little surprised

They group did have their suspicions about the Monk but yet, didn't think for the Monk to come out as one of the enemy. 

'That lair, but I don't  get it he smells like an ordinary human..' Inuyasha thought

"What's the matter? I dare say you look a little confused..." Renkotsu said, he then smiled a little   

"Inuyasha...oh and Natsu, your nose is extremely sensitive, am I right? I honestly thought you were onto me earlier, but then..I suspect that I didn't emanate the scent of dead bodies or graveyard dirt, am I correct?"  Renkotsu finished 

"Dammit...I get it.. It's this place" Inuyasha said, getting irritated with himself that he'd let something as small as that pass him by like that 

Renkotsu then laughed under his breath 

"It seems that taking over this temple was a wise move..it's surrounded by graveyard dirt, of course, so you wouldn't realize the scent came from me." Renkotsu said

"I wore the clothing that the real Monk so kindly let behind. Both your scene of smell is so sharp, you both caught his scent right away and it ironically help put your suspicions aside" Renkotsu finished
