The Moon and I
The moon and I are linked.
We are the same, I and she.
Whilst she is surrounded by
Untouchable sky diamonds,
I am also alone
In a sea of people.
Everybody here has friends,
Just as stars lie in clusters.
The moon and I are different
From the ones which surround us,
So we are therefore ignored
By most of our peers.
I lost him,
The one I loved.
The moon has lost her lover,
Her daytime replacement, the Sun.
And now, friendless, we support each other,
Though we are separated ourselves.
The moon and I are linked.
We are the same, I and she.
I miss my love,
As she misses hers,
But I am here for her,
And she is here for me.
We set each other free.
