The Devil's Daughter

The soft moonlight

Portrays your hideous form

For what it really is,

Rather than that mask you hide behind.

You are not a vampire,

Werewolf, ghoul or gorgon.

In fact, you look almost no different.

Almost human.

But something shines through

Your pale white skin.

Underneath your beauty,

You hide your secret.

But the moonlight

Draws out

The dark light

Of your heart.

Your black heart shines,

Taking over everything I see.

The darkness covers all good,

And replaces it with evil.

I look at a patch of grass;

A muddy puddle forms.

I look at a small rabbit;

A tiny skeleton clatters to the ground.

When the moon

Hides itself behind a cloud,

The world breathes

A sigh of relief.

For now your black heart

Is hidden once more.

And your Siren powers

Have returned.

But I will not

Fall for you again.

For now I see you for what you truly are:

The Devil's daughter.
