I rock in the corner of the room.
Time has passed. I don't know how much.
My throat is hoarse from screaming.
"Please," I whimper. "Please. Whoever is doing this to me. . .Please let me go."
There's no reply.
The air feels tight. My throat constricted.
"Please," I whisper again. "I want to go home."
Silence.
I look around me.
There has to be some way out. There has to be some way to communicate with whoever has done this to me.
Then it occurs to me.
The buttons.
The Alarm button.
There's a speaker by the alarm button.
I shuffle along the floor, no longer wanting to look into the mirrors.
On my knees I study the button. Then I push it.
"Hello?" I croak. "Hello? Can anybody hear me?"
I push my ear close to the speaker holes in the elevator wall.
Nothing.
I try again.
"Hello?"
Nothing.
"Hello?"
I pound against the button, thumping the sides of the elevator with my fists.
"HELLO?" I screech. "HELP ME. CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME?"
Hot tears begin to spill down my face as I slump down wall.
I don't think I'm ever getting out of this elevator.
