Thomas reluctantly left her. Snaking his hand around her neck and gently pulling her into a kiss. It probably was to soon, it was proven to him more as she meet his assault on her lips cautiously. He was probably her first kiss he thought to himself quietly as he reluctantly pulled away from her. Gave her a warm smile and left. He would see her at school tomorrow anyway.
The next morning was Clarence's first day at her new school, she was scared nervous even. Well she had Thomas. The thought of the kiss they had shared put a smile on her face as she walked into the kitchen.
"What's got you in such a good mood, on a school day?" Her mother questioned curiously. Clarence instantly had a warm blush creep across her face, her mother smiled.
"Was it Thomas?" She questioned again giggling as Clarence's face got redder.
"Maybe" she said nervously grabbing the milk and pouring it into her cereal.
"What about him? His eyes, the way he looks at you, how he smiles at you?"
"Yes and much more!" She squealed, causing her mother to flinch.
"Ooh tell me" young love she thought. Pondering the day she meet her husband. He was dashingly handsome in his high school years.
"He kissed me" it was lower than a whisper but her mother still heard. Before she could answer Thomas came though the door not bothering to knock. Looking a bit sheepish at the realisation that he forgot.
"Well Thomas good morning Clarence was just talking about you" Clarence's face instantly went red.
"She was?... I mean of course she was I'm just to irresistible" Clarence instantly burst into a fit of laughter.
"Oh my gosh I am in cramps, too irresistible more like to irresistibly funny" once again commencing into a fit of laughter, not realising that Thomas had snuck up behind her whispering quietly into her ear.
"Whatever floats your boat baby" nibbling on her ear softly as another blush crept onto her face.
"Ah hem, aren't you two supposed to be going to school?"
"Yes I was just about to escort this lovely lady there, showing any boy that lays eyes on her that she's mine" he smiled smugly as Veronica laughed gratefully.
"Take good care of my daughter Thomas, I know you will" she smiled warmly as he gently wrapped his hand around clarences as he led her out the house and towards the school. They walked in silence as they enjoyed each others company. Finally Tom broke the silence.
"Hey are you fine with everyone knowing we're dating?" He asked cautiously praying to every single god that she'd say yes.
"Well you practically made a promise to my mum so I won't let you go back on that" he fist pumped the air with his free hand excitedly. She giggled quietly at the immaturity that was her boyfriend. Boyfriend she rolled the word around in her head like a ball deciding if she liked it or not, she almost squealed at the thought that this gorgeous blue eyed boy was her boyfriend! His hand tightened around hers as they neared the school gates. He turned to her expectantly;
"Are you ready for a new adventure" looking into her eyes for some sort of emotion to put his mind at ease.
"Only if it involves you!" He smiled cupped her chin with his left hand tilting it downwards slightly as he kissed her forehead. All the girls watching in the background squealed excitedly.
"Omg they are so cute!!!" One girl said.
"I know I'm totally jealous, we need to make friends with this girl immediately. Thomas only goes for really nice good girls I reckon she's gonna be really nice" the other said.
"Go for it but I'm not interested" but she didn't hear her comment as she approached Thomas and his new girlfriend.
"Hi I'm Sophie I'm one of Thomas's friends" she smiled warmly as she extended her hand.
"Nice to meet you I'm Clarence!" Taking her hand and shaking it gently. Thomas going and giving her a light punch on the shoulder.
"I was going to introduce you you fat pig!" He said in the most serious tone he could muster.
"I'm sorry if I'm to quick for you you ugly tortoise!" Unable to keep straight faces for long they all burst out laughing.
"Oh my god ugly tortoise! Nope this is to much I can't I can't breathe!" Then Clarence and the others burst into laughter once more. Grabbing her arm Sophie dragged Clarence away with Thomas running behind them.
"Hey stop trying to steal my girlfriend from me you lesbian!"
"It's not my fault my sexuality bothers you!" Thomas gapes his mouth open like a goldfish.
"I was only joking....."
"Wait I thought you knew?"
"Oh my gosh I am totally finding you a girlfriend!" Clarence said excitedly, taking Sophie by surprise.
"Well if your gonna ditch me because of who I am then you were never a true friend!" Tears threatening to fall from her face. Moving towards her and putting his arm around her giggling a bit.
"When did I say that I had a problem with it? I was just a little bit shocked that's all" sighing with relief she continued to drag Clarence into the school building. This continued throughout the whole day Clarence being pulled around either by Sophie or Thomas. Until eventually the school day was over. The friends parted ways, Sophie going off to the bus and Tom and Clarence started walking to their houses but they were rudely interrupted by the school bully.
"Nice sow Thomas sure she'd fit in at the piggery" he chuckled lightly to himself. She instantly turned around and started walking towards him with determination on her face.
"Did you just call me a pig?! Oh I'm pretty sure you haven't looked in the mirror lately cause your face looks like a monkeys arse!" A lot of oohs erupted from the students around them who came to watch the show. Thomas put an arm around her waist with a proud look on his face.
"Oh nathaniel for once you have nothing to say, why don't you just run along to mummy now and find someone else to pick on"
With that they both turned and walked to their houses.Opening the door and letting Clarence in first he called out to Veronica.
"Hey Veronica I brought your daughter home safely" when they didn't receive a response Thomas hugged Clarence to his chest tightly. As they slowly walked through the house.
"Veronica... Are you there, are you alright?" He slowly pushes open the door to her bedroom as Clarence grips his shirt and buries her face in his chest. As the door opens completely he can see Clarence's mother stretched out on the bed sleeping in her work closes she looked so exhausted.
"Clarence it's okay your mum was just sleeping she looks really tired" but it was to late. He could already feel tears falling from her face. He pulled her into her room and laid her down on her bed. Sitting down close to her head.
"Clarence is there something I need to know about you, your mum?" He asked tentatively carefully putting her head into his lap.
"Please tell me.. I know it will be hard but you'll feel better after"
"My father a year ago he killed himself..." She suddenly burst into tears crawling her way up his body situating herself on his lap.
"He didn't even say goodbye, he left no note no reason he just left! Why'd he live me Tom why'd he leave me?" At first she was asking him but then it turned into a plea to know. At least he knew why his dad left. But with her she felt so lost, his heart ached for her.
"Maybe he felt that your life would be better without him. Maybe he was so messed up that he didn't want and need you to deal with his problems" she instantly stopped crying and sit a back on his lap.
"Do you really think that he didn't want me to get into his mess?" He combed his fingers through her hair as she closed her eyes and hummed in appreciation.
"But what sort of mess was he in?" She mumbled into his neck as she ran her nose along his gawelinye.
"That is a question for your mother not me..."Hey guys so thanks for reading my story! Reads are slowly going up which makes me very happy.
