He didn't want to leave her in this mess but he had to. He'd stayed long enough his foster parents would be getting worried.
"Hey I've got to go" as he said that Clarence put her arms around his neck and rested her forehead on his.
"I know your parents would be worried but is it selfish to say that I think I need you more than they do at the moment?" At that he grabbed her chin with his thumb and forefinger and lifted her head up to meet his awaiting lips. Her hands slipped into his hair and tugged on it lightly deepening the kiss as he wrapped his arms around her waist not letting go. He once again reluctantly pulled away from her even though he wanted more.
"I have to go now. I'll visit you later tonight if I can" she smiled at that.
"Maybe you could come over for tea?" Very British he thought to himself. She carefully removed herself from his lap letting him stand up.
"Feels good to get the legs stretching again!" She giggled at that as she escorted him to the door. Clarence's mum was standing in the kitchen slaving away at the stove.
"Hello you two how was your first day at school?" She said softly looking at Thomas to see if he has taken good care of her.
"Oh it was really good mum I meet a couple of other people and my new best friend Sophie!" Her mother smiled broadly at that.
"Hey I supposedly introduced her" he said with a sarcastic huff.
"Haha no she introduced herself! Well then you called each other pigs and tortoises" he pulled her into a light tackle.
"I'll show you who's the tortoise!" He said as he tackled her onto the couch laughing as she tried to punch him in the stomach but meeting muscle instead. Clarence was tough she put up a real fight. So he let her win. Huffing and puffing they untangled themselves and Clarence let Thomas go home.
"So did he look after you today?" She looked at her daughter with a serious tone but she wasn't really paying attention.
"Mum can I ask you something?" Instantly becoming worried her mother walked over to her and sat across from her.
"Why did dad have to leave us? What kind of trouble was he in mum? Why didn't he say goodbye?!" Sighing deeply she closed her eyes about to speak then Thomas burst through the door. Panting and heaving he rushed up to the table."My mum come quick!" He managed to get out during pants. Instantly Clarence got up and ran out the house with him Veronica following behind. Thomas burst back into the house his mum was lying on the floor a pool of blood around her head. Clarence almost screamed as she saw a guy in black with a knife coming towards her chanting the words your next over and over. Staggering back shaking her head as the man slowly came towards her. Shuddering as she felt the cold breath of his accomplice behind her. Her mother and Thomas were no where to be seen.
"What do you want with me!" She screamed. She suddenly awoke to herself lying in her own bed Thomas hovering over her face full of worry.
"Your mum is she okay what happened how am I in my room?" She sat up instantly feeling dizzy. His expression changed from worry to relief.
"Don't worry about my mum she's fine she just fell and cracked her head open knocking herself out at the same time. Your in your room because you passed out from shock. When you were unconscious you were having a fit" his eyes drifted away as to not embarrass her. It was her imagination! The men weren't real..... She looked around startled.
"Where's my mum?" His gaze softened as he turned back to face her.
"She's at the hospital with my mum. Um Clarence is there something your not telling me about yourself? Something that I should know?" She shifted uncomfortable. Seeing this he laid down next to her. She turned towards him and put her head on his chest.
"I just have an overactive imagination that's all. It makes me see things that seem real to me but aren't kinda like a hallucination" they both instantly got up when they heard the jingling of keys. Thomas slowly guided Clarence out of her room and into the kitchen.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Veronica said as she walked over to her daughter inspecting her for damage.
"It happened again mum. It's on overdrive! It's making me go insane!" Her mother flashed her a worried glance before turning to Thomas who was whispering sweet and calming words into her ear. Venturing into her deeper mind she found her subconscious on the floor rolling around hugging himself tightly. He suddenly lost grip of the sheet of paper in his hand and it flew right into Clarence's. It read; Clarence it's okay calm down your mine and I won't let anything happen to you. She felt giddy as she shifted back into reality. Feeling a tingling sensation fill her as Thomas nibbled on her ear gently.
"Why don't you stay for tea Thomas? Your mother will be discharged from hospital tomorrow afternoon if the tests come out good"
"Sounds great I'd love to!" He nuzzled his head into Clarence's neck as he curled his arms around her waist. A blush was slowly creeping up onto her cheeks. Her mother chuckled, this boy was a keeper!
"Go on you two love birds have a good time!" Thomas lifted his head up to meet her mothers eyes. As if suddenly receiving the okay he suddenly dragged her out the door."Where are we going?!" She giggled as they ran faster. Thomas looked back at her, gosh she was pretty he thought to himself.
"To the park you need fresh air!" In the middle of laughing and giggling they managed to get to the park.
"Well we're here" as Clarence turned around to take in her surroundings she was amazed at the beauty of this park. There was flowers, huge trees and roses everywhere. Thomas wandered over to the nearest rose bush and picked a beautiful read rose and put it in Clarence's hair.
"You are the most beautiful girl in the world and I am so lucky to have you" he whispered in here ear so only she could hear his sweet words. She hummed contently as he ran his hand through her hair. Clarence wandered of to a nearby tree and started climbing higher and higher with Thomas slowly following behind. They climbed until Clarence found a secret hollow in the tree that was big enough for them to both sit in. They both sat down getting comfortable in each others arms as they listened to birds chirping and singing in the treetops.
"This place is amazing thanks for taking me here!" She gasped as he planted soft kisses down her neck making swirls with his fingers on the tops of her palms burying his face into her neck once more.Hey guys sorry I didn't update yesterday there was a power black out and well no power no internet so that's why.
