"Oh come on Dad, tell me something about them at least."

"Sorry Rosie this is your Uncle Dan's business and I'm his Beta, you know the rules... Or do I have to inform your mother that you need another lesson in pack dynamics." It's a threat to stop me asking more questions and he couples it with a raise of his eyebrow to show it's also a challenge.

"No." I say almost immediately. Mums lectures are so boring I actually feel like shooting myself right in front of her. He chuckles and does that really annoying thing where he ruffles my hair.

"Go do homework... or whatever you kids do these days, I've got work to do kiddo." I know when I've been beaten so I let it drop, I mean they start next week so I will know soon enough anyway.

"Fine... but I'm not a kid anymore, I'm seventeen!"

"Yes dear." He says absentmindedly but I know his full attention is on the document in front of him, thinking back to the car journey this morning I get an idea, I can be very sneaky when I want to be.

"Dad?"

"Mhmmmm."

"There's a party on Friday night, Mary has got permission of Uncle Drake so I can go too?"

"Mhmmmm, sure kiddo."

"Thanks Dad." I call over my shoulder as I hastily make my way to my room before he can think about it much longer. Easy.

Over the next week the buzz about the new kids only escalated, there where rumours flying about all over the place about some famous movie star shifters (we know who they are but the humans don't have a clue) and rival packs, everyone wanted Monday to come as quickly as possible so they could get back to school after the weekend, how crazy does that sound? But first we had the 'we survived the first week back' party.

Standing in front of my wardrobe I survey my collection of dresses again. The party is in just under two hours and I still have to shave my legs and pick a dress. It has been arranged that Oli is going to pick me up from my house, him being one of the two members of our group with a car, and that together we would make our way over, whilst Chris picks up everyone else. One reason for not getting a drivers license: Designated driver.

Grabbing two dresses out of my wardrobe I hold them to my body periodically whilst twisting in the mirror... being a girl is so hard sometimes, all guys seem to have to do is stick a shirt and a pair of jeans on and they are done. I wish it was that simple.

With twenty minutes to go my make-up is done, my hair is drying into its natural wavy state and my legs are smooth, all that's left is to pick my dress.

It doesn't take me long, one last glance at each and I pick up an ivory coloured thigh length dress, all my dresses reach about mid thigh because my legs are the only feature of my body that I like.

It is strapless and ruched along the top section which stops under my chest where there is a sparkly belt dividing the top from the bottom, the material then continues down in the same ruched effect and seems to tuck under itself, the part I like is that there is one section that runs straight down the middle of the dress that isn't interrupted by the sparkles it breaks the effect up a bit and makes it just that little bit different. I've paired it with my silver sparkly heels, a big difference to my customary black stilettos. Grabbing my silver clutch purse I stuff my phone and lip gloss inside and make my way downstairs to keep an eye out for Oli.

"Where are you going?" Mum says from her arm chair in the lounge.

"Party." Her mouth forms a small frown. "Dad said I could go." I quickly chip in.
