Healing

April was sitting on the chair next to Jackson's bed, she grabbed his hand. She missed him, she missed her best friend, she missed her daughters dad. April sat there for a while and then git hungry since Jackson was stable she decided to quickly go to the cafeteria for lunch she gave Jackson a quick kiss on the head and headed to the cafeteria.

When April got to the cafeteria she saw Meredith, Alex, Cristina, Jo and Derek at one table. She grabbed some food, an apple, some fries and a Pepsi and headed to a little table in the corner. Meredith saw her and walked up to April. "Would you like to sit with us, we're always open," Meredith said grabbing April's hand.

April paused for a second than replied, "Sure," April grabbed her lunch tray and walked with Meredith to their table. She grabbed a seat and ate a fry. She opened her Pepsi and took a long sip.

"So how's Jackson doing? I was planning on visiting him after work today," Alex asked.

"He's stable, hasn't shown any movement, but he's healing." April told Alex. Alex smiled glad to hear that his friend was doing good.

All through lunch their was the occasional conversation but for the most part, it was quiet, when April finished her fries she stood up and said, "I'm going to go back to see how Jackson's doing," April grabbed her apple and Pepsi and turned around.

"April, I'm gonna go with you," Meredith said and ran up to April. When she was beside April she said, "You need someone there with you." April smiled and they walked to Jackson's room.

When they got to Jackson's room they sat down and April grabbed Jackson's hand again. Meredith was beside April and felt bad that there was nothing she could do. "I think I'm ready for Mellisa to see her dad," April said and she stood up.

Meredith smiled and they walked to the daycare. When Mellisa saw her mom she lit up, she crawled to her mom and hugged her. April lifted her up and hugged her. She carried her daughter all the way to Jackson's room. Meredith, April and Mellisa all sat down in the chair Mellisa was on Aprils lap.

"Look at daddy," April whispered in Mellisas ear, "He's healing, he's healing really well." April hugged her daughter from behind. Mellisa rested her head on her mom's chest. Melissa was doing fine, April was doing fine, and Jackson was doing fine. The Avery family was healing.
