We were all gathered at Damian and Lia's place for a barbecue, it had been a while since all of us had the chance to hang out. Lia's parents, my dad, my aunt and Kim's boyfriend, Jack were the only additions to our usual clan along with the babies of course.

Jack was an okay guy but for whatever reason I just didn't think he was going to be around for very long. He hardly seemed like Kim's type.

Speaking of Kim, she had gone inside to get some more snacks about ten minutes ago, which was a little weird since everything was already prepared and on platters that just needed to be brought out. I was about to mention it to Lia when Kim rushed out onto the patio breathing heavily, with nothing but a sheet of paper in her hand, she looked positively ill.

We all flocked towards her in concern. She held out the letter which Lia took it from her and read. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise as she read the contents of the letter.

"What is it?" I asked in confusion and anticipation.

"I have to go to Italy," Kim said with finality before Lia could answer.

"What, why?" I asked, even more confused.

"Because I can't let the man I love marry someone else," Kim said, looking sick at the very thought of this man being with another woman and not caring in the least that the man she was currently dating was there.

"Who are we even talking about?!" I asked in exasperation.

This time it was a smirking Zandre who provided me with an answer.

"Luca Giordano."
