It's 6:30 pm Kristen and her family should be over any minu- DING dong DING dong well i guess that's her. I walked down the stairs to find her standing in the doorway. She looked so beautiful with her dark brown hair in a fishtail braid, her eyes glistening in the light, her dress matched her shoes perfectly. She was just so perfect and i'm lucky enough to call her my best friend.
After dinner I took Kristen down to the river. She asked me "why are we going out down her?"
"You will see why in a minute."
Just after I said that we came up to the river. "It's so beautiful!" Kristen said.
"Yeah I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" she asked confused.
"It's why I won't come to your house."
"Okay you can tell me" she said.
Okay let me start from the beginning. It was December 4, 1987, Serena and I were down by the crashing, freezing, raising rapids. We were playing tag until she slipped, hit her head, and became unconscious. I screamed for someone to come and help, but no one heard me. I couldn't wait any longer, so I dove into the river fished out Serena to only realize that she lye unbreathing in my arms. That house you live in two houses over from mine that was Serena's old house.  "
"I'm so sorry Carter! "
"I'm the reason she died. "
"What do you mean? "
"If I would've just dove straight into the water without sitting there she would still be alive today. "
"Carter it's not your fault you were just in shock! "
