I swing the door open to my house and enter, throwing all my belongings next on the rug next to the door. Zoe and Jem walk behind me, kicking off their shoes and neatly placing them on the other side of the door as my mom rushes into the room.
"Zoe! Jem! How nice to see you, I haven't seen you guys in forever!" (Even though she saw them just yesterday). She runs over to them, pulling them both into a hug and embedding a kiss on each of their checks.
"Okayyyyyy, mom, that's enough," I say chuckling, prying my mom off the both of them. "I'm going out to go fetch Dylan from school," she says, smiling her sweet smile at us. "You know what to do, call me if you need anything. You kids have my number, right?"
"Yes, mom, we all have your number," I chide, opening the door and holding it open for my mom.
"Bye, kids, see you later," she responds, picking up her purse and the car keys and walking out the door as I slam it behind her.
"Alright, let's go," I say, pulling Jem and Zoe up the steep steps. "I'm so sorry, if you guys get sick within the next few days, you can put the blame on my dear mother," I sarcastically imply, leading them to my room.
I open the door to my luxurious room as the blinding light scorches us. Oh CRAP, I forgot to close the curtains.
Jem runs past us, pushing us out of his way and jumping onto my bed. "Ew... why is it wet?" he complains, scrambling to get off the damp bed as I close my floral curtains. "It's okay to admit it, you had a little accident."
"No," I say. I had completely forgotten about the water Jake had splashed me with this morning. "Jake had a very... clever way of waking me up."
Zoe laughs "Hah, classic Jake."
"I heard my name," Jake grins, walking through the open door. "I heard I was clever, and all I can say is that I agree with that very true statement." He walks past Zoe, smacking her bottom and smirking.
Zoe gasps, blushing and stepping behind me to hide. "JAKE why are you such a fuckboy?" I scold, smacking his arm and pushing him out the open door as he winks at Zoe.
"Bye, babe."
I slam the door in his face. Zoe's face is red and she starts muttering to herself. She turns around after a couple of seconds and sits down into my black wheely chair that's in the corner of the room next to my desk. Jem is just sitting on the bed frozen in shock and unaware of anything.
"So sorry about that, he's such a jerk," I reassure her, lying down on my soft red carpet that was laid in the middle of my room.
"Oookay," Jem says awkwardly, flipping down on one of my big yellow bean bag chairs in front of me.
"I'm gonna go get a drink of water," Zoe murmured, getting up from the chair and walking out of the room, silently closing the oak door behind her. Well that was odd.

Jem and I start our math homework; we both have Mr. Tilsh, but different periods. Algebra, I thought, sighing as I flopped down on my (still very wet) bed next to me.
"Whoa," Jem exclaims. "Don't get too excited."
"I know right I just wish I had Math ALL day," I say with a hint of sarcasm. We start our spectacular homework but at least it was easy. Mr.Tilsh was easy going and didn't like to stress us out so he gave us little homework. That's one of the only reasons I actually like Mr. Tilsh.

Wait a minute, I thought to myself, as we're solving question 10. Where the hell is Zoe?
