I regain my consciousness, opening my eyes and praying for some sort of sign of what's happening. I squint as bright lights from outside the large vehicle shine right down on me and some other freaky-looking droids around the interior. I feel better when I see lights that resemble the colored bulbs on the outside of Artoo. I reach my cuffed hands out and feel the cold metal on the droids body. I brush off dirt and sand off of the exterior metal and see the blue details on the droid. I shift in my black dress, wiping any dust and sand off of me, and I fix as much of my braid as possible with my cuffed hands. I feel safer knowing that I'm with Artoo, but still lost out of my mind.
"What's happening?" I whisper, knowing I won't get any reply.
"It seems as we have been kidnapped by Jawas, Princess Aura." A familiar voice makes me jump, but I turn around and happily sigh when I see Threepio.
"You got captured, too?"
"Unfortunately, but thank goodness we're all together at once." I cannot help but smile and agree with the metal man. After a few more minutes of waiting, the vehicle suddenly decreases its motion. "We stopped...wake up!" Threepio yells as he pushes Artoo and I.
"I was resting my eyes, dummy." I reply. Suddenly, the rusty door opens, revealing the creatures that I assume are Jawas. My companions blabber on about something as the Jawas come closer, pointing out specific droids to each other. They choose Artoo and Threepio, and when they come to me, they tighten my handcuffs and point at me. Although the pain stops me from smiling, I'm glad I'm not separated from my only friends at the moment.
They begin leading us out of the vehicle and stand in a formation across the sand near the ship. The sun shines so bright, but I can still make out a round house structure across the way. Under these circumstances, I only have one question for my droid-friend:
"Are we...being sold?" I turn to Threepio, who can't help but just stare at the creatures leading us.
I'm forcefully pushed down into the sand, on my knees. I wince in pain as the hot sand burns my flesh. I have a feeling I'm about to be sold into work or slavery.
I cannot believe I have let my family down. I have to now live on a planet with no human life, just creepy little creatures and freaky droids. I have no contact with Leia, and hell, I don't know if she's even alive right now. My life ends today and there's no way around it.
"Luke? Luke?" A motherly voice chimes as the droids beep around me. A human? I can't believe it! I can barely hear the chatter but when I open my eyes, I can see a man and a boy walking our way. I try to yell, but nothing comes out. I feel too weak to fight, so I sit on my knees and stare at the ground. They'll notice me...They have to.
I stare at the guys as they examine the droids down the line. I sadly watch as Artoo is ignored. I can't go anywhere without that little guy. The man speaks with Threepio, and from what I see, purchases him. Traitor...
The boy begins leading Threepio away from the crowd, along with a red droid, closely resembling an old Artoo-Unit. Artoo and I turn our heads to each other. They can't just abandon us. How did they not see me? Is it because of the bigger droids surrounding me?
"HEY! WAIT!" I yell. "PLEASE!" I yell louder. The boy whips his head around and squints at me.
"Uncle Owen!" He yells as he runs over to me. Thank goodness. "They got a girl," he says as him and his uncle approach me.
"What's your name, dear?" The man asks.
"Please just save me and I'll give you all my information after, I beg!" I say, panicking as the Jawas begin leading the unsold droids onto the vehicle.
"Wait! We'd like the girl, too." The man says, taking out some sort of money and handing it to the Jawa. I stand up as they unlock my handcuffs.
"Thank you so much! You have no idea!" I yell as I hug the awkward, but surprisingly cute boy tightly.
"Yeah, no problem." He says,
proving his awkwardness with his child-like voice, but repays the hug. As we separate, the red droid near Threepio begins malfunctioning. "Uncle Owen, this Artoo-Unit has a bad motivator, look!""What are you trying to push on us?" The man questions the creatures. I laugh and walk over to the boy with a bright idea.
"Um, I think that blue Artoo-Unit seems to be in prime condition!" I whisper in his ear. He stares into my eyes for a moment, Damn, he has beautiful eyes, then he turns back toward the robots.
"Uncle Owen, what about that one?" He questions again with his whiney teenager voice and points at Artoo-Detoo. My smile glimmers as Owen purchases my droid. Ceethreepio begins chattering to the boy about Artoo's capabilities. My droid makes his way over to us. As the boy turns around and walks over to what I presume is his house, I kneel down and hug Artoo.
"I would never leave you behind, buddy," I say as he beeps in happiness.
"Come on inside!" Owen shouts. I nod my head and stand up.
"We still have to finish our mission. I cannot let our people down." I whisper to the droids, and we begin to make our way to the household.
Helloooo! This chapter is a little less boring than the last, but its still picking up the story a little bit. Thanks to everyone commenting and voting! I want this story to make everyone smile and connect with the character, Aura! BTW: Italics through the dialogue is Aura thinking to herself! Just a reminder.
