We begin our decent back down to the garage to do something about the droids. My cheeks still feel warm from the evening Tatooine air, and my conversation with Luke. After he told me to tell him all about myself, I couldn't keep it together. I panicked and brushed off his statement. I said something about the droids to get his mind back on track.
I feel bad, though. He seems like he wants to be great friends with me, but I'm not sure why? We've only known each other for a few hours, so I can't be that interesting.
As we enter the garage, we notice no sign of the droids. Where the hell are those two idiots? I watch as Luke examines the room carefully, then bends down and grabs a gadget of some sort. He presses it and it releases a tolerable sound. I jump a little where I stand when Threepio pops out from behind a speeder. Luke and I make eye contact and look back at the droid.
"What are you doing hiding back there?" Luke asks the golden man.
"It wasn't my fault sir! Please don't deactivate me!" He replies in a begging tone. I can't help but roll my eyes and scoff. All Threepio wants to do is stay here and work because he thinks he found a home. Whatta sucker...
Threepio nervously babbles about R2 and his "malfunction" and "mission." I pull my head out of the clouds and raise an eyebrow at Ceethreepio.
Wait, wait, wait...Where's Artoo?" I say, taking a step closer to further examine the garage.
"I told you! He left, but I told him not to go!" He replies nervously. I walk over to him and grab his golden shoulder and whisper next to his metal head,
"If we don't find my droid, I'll make sure to melt you down and make a garbage can out of you..."
"My apologies, Princess Aur-" I threw my hand against his back to interrupt his sentence.
"I'm not a princess right now, Threepio...I'm just Aura." I say through gritted teeth and an evil eye.
"Once again, my apologies, Aura." He replies correctly. I nod and jog over to Luke who seemed mind-boggled about what he just witnessed.
"Can we find my- sorry, our droid, now?"
"Yeah, let's go." He replies, grabbing some binoculars and guiding me in a quick jog outside. Luke starts looking as I search the land visible to me. Ceethreepio joins us and, once again, starts complaining about Artoo. "How could I be so stupid. He's nowhere in sight...Blasted!" Luke yells.
"You're not stupid, Luke. We just need to find him soon. Like, really soon." I nervously reply, now shivering in the cool wind that's rushing against my body.
"Well, it's too dangerous with all the sand people out now. We'll have to wait until morning." He finalizes. My heart drops as he says that. Who knows where Artoo could be? Without him, the mission will be a failure, the rebellion will be a failure, and I'll be a failure. I look up at Luke, who goes to say something, but our attention shifts to his uncle yelling for us. "Alright, we'll be there in a few minutes." He yells back.
Luke and I slowly start walking back to the house with Threepio trailing behind. "Boy, am I gonna get it..." He says kicking the sand and staring at the ground. "You know, that little droid has been causing a lot of trouble." He says, picking his head up to look at me. I look at him in the eyes and turn my head forward to watch as the house becomes closer with every step.
"You have no idea, farmboy." I say with a sarcastic chuckle following. We enter the house and walk down a hallway.
"Goodnight everyone!" Luke yells before leading me into what I assume is his room. "This is where the magic happens," Luke says as he lights a few candles since Owen shut down the power. "The candles burn out on their own so don't worry about them later."
Luke's room is interesting. Nothing like I'd expect. His bed is a decent size and he has a little couch-like seating area. Tatooine cloths and knittings hang on the walls. The studying of his room was interrupted by Luke's awkward cough to catch my attention. "Okay, so, this might sound weird, but, um-"
"Spit it out, Skywalker!" I say, laughing a bit. He clearly calms down when I give him some slack.
"Alright, so, I personally think the bed is big enough for both of us, butifyoudon'tagreethanthatsokay-"
"Yes, I'll sleep with you. Better?"
"Shut up." He replies in a childish tone that I just can't help but laugh at.
"I'm kidding! I've shared beds with plenty of people I don't know," I respond.
"Really?" He raises his eyebrows, his child-like oblivion taking over.
"No, dumbass." We chuckle for a minute and enjoy the silence.
"I'd hate to make you sleep in that pretty black dress so I'll give you some other clothes." He leaves the room for a moment, but comes back with a tan robe-like outfit. "It was my aunts when she was younger. She keeps all her old stuff down the hallway. First thing I saw, so sorry if you don't like it," Luke says while entering the room and throwing the robe at me.
"Thanks." I reply. I hold it up to my body. Luke and I stare at each other for a minute until I lift my hand and point at the door. "I, uhh, kinda gotta get changed" I say.
"Oh! Yeah! Sorry!" He whispers in rey, rushing out of the room. "I'm gonna go wash up," He mentions on the way out
After Luke allowed me to get changed, I called him back in. I jumped into his bed and happily exhaled as my head hit the pillow. Surprisingly comfy bed for a farm family. Oops. That sounded rude. He walks in, grabs something out of the closet-like opening in his wall, and stripped down infront of me, back turned to me though.
"Woah, didn't realize it was this kind of party, farm boy!" I say laughing as I grab a pillow and throw it at his ass. Damn, he's handsome for a 'man-child.'
"Didn't realize you were into it..." He starts saying as he looks over his shoulder and makes eye contact with me, "Princess..."
I sat up right away after he said that. "Excuse me?" I say, raising my eyebrow at the half-dressed boy in front of me.
"What are you worrying about, Princess?" He says again.
"I don't know what you're talking about?" I scoff as I find a piece of thread and tie my blonde locks up into a ponytail.
"Oh, you don't know what I'm talking about? Well, I don't know what you're talking about, because I'm 100% percent sure I heard the tall droid call you a princess earlier." I break our eye contact and stare at the wall. "And, I'm pretty sure that either means you are actually a princess of some sort, or you're having an affair with a droid." He finishes, crossing his arms and looking at me. I look up at him and give him an innocent look.
"I can explain-"
"Save it for another time when it means something. For now, you're still a girl we picked up off the market." Luke starts walking toward the bed and slipping on some night garb/robe on himself.
"Let's just say 'For now', is only going to last a few more hours if we find that droid in the morning. But, no time for explaining. Time for sleep!" I smirk as he lays down in the bed and throws the blankets over us.
"Whatever you say, Princess." He laughs, looking up at the sealing and placing both hands behind his head in a relaxed way.
"Whatever you say, farm boy." I reply, leaning over and placing a kiss on his cheek. I watch as his face goes red and he rolls over to face the opposite side of the bed. Awkward..? Well, at least he's got a hard-on for me, and not my sister anymore!
And yes, that was my last thought before I fell asleep next to my new best friend...
