All goes to hell barely five seconds after we start to leave this abandoned part of the desert.

Artoo begins whistling and beeping loudly, signaling something to the rest of us. I've only ever seen him this frantic during emergencies.

"Oh my..." Threepio starts, "He says there are several creatures approaching from the southeast.

"Artoo," I bend down," What's-"

"Sand people! Or worse! Come on, let's have a look. Come on." Luke makes us follow him up onto the top of a rocky structure. I see Artoo move off into the shadows of a different structure, causing my anxiety levels to rise.

"Luke!" I grasp Luke's forearm, causing the electrobinoculars to hit his forehead. He groans and turns to me. "Artoo," I point, "we have to get him."

"See those sandpeople," Luke places the binoculars over my eyes and I watch the small figures roam around the sand, "they'll do exactly what the Jawas did, maybe even more aggressive, and Uncle Owen and I won't be there to save you." He puts the lenses over his eyes and watches the creatures again. This kid thinks he knows all.

I push myself off my forearms and off the sandy ridge. I start rushing down the dune, and I ignore Luke's warnings as he shouts at me. I run to my droid in the shadows and he beeps with pleasure.

"Make some room, buddy." I squeeze in next to Artoo. By the time I look up for Threepio and Luke, they seem to be gone and a raider of some sort has taken their...

Oh wait.

Artoo begins to panic as he sees what I see, the full range of thought developing: Do we help or do we stay? I roll my eyes, knowing Artoo is safe. I shift my legs, the memory of the laser rifle Luke lent me. I scurry out of the cave-like indent and pull the weapon out, charging up the hill, but before I make it, the weight of my body is thrown behind myself as I'm struck in the head.

I can't catch a break today because, guess what:

It all went black (again)...
