"She's pregnant?" RJ asked.
I nodded my head.
"Yeah, something happened between her brother gang and another gang. They took her and raped her." I said. It's hard just picturing what happened to her.
"So you go take care of it?"
"If she decides she wants to keep it yeah." I know how it feels to grow up with having a father raise you.
Even though this baby isn't mines, I'm feeling Shae. I'll step up and be a father to this baby. My momma always told me if the girl I'm with has a baby, I'm not obligated to take care of it, but it'll be the responsible thing to do.
"But aye man, I gotta go. She has her first appointment today." I gave RJ dap before leaving.
I pulled up to Shae's new house in about 45 minutes. I knocked on the door and Ashley answered.
"Hey Tre come in."
"Hey. Nice house y'all got here."
"Thanks, let me go get Shae."
She went to the opposite end of the house, and moments later her and Shae came down the hall.
"Hey Tre, ready to go?" Shae asked.
"Yeah, let's go."

We made it to the doctors office in about 20 minutes. When we got inside, Shae signed in and filled out the paper work. Moments later they were calling her to the back.
"Shae White ." She grabbed her purse and we followed the nurse to the back.
"Good afternoon. I'm Nurse Taylor. I'll be giving you a brief check up, then Doctor Stevenson will be with you."
"Ok." Shae said.
The nurse checked her weight , height , blood pressure and Temperature. She asked Shae a few questions then the doctor came in.
"Congratulations Ms. White. You are Indeed a month and 2 weeks pregnant." The doctor said.
Shae had an uneasy, but slightly excited expression on her face.
"When will we be able to see the baby in the black and white computer screen thingy?" I asked not remembering what it's called.
"An ultrasound you mean?" Shae laughed.
"Yeah that?"
"I usually give the first ultrasound around 12 weeks. That's when we can determine the gender." We both nodded our heads.
"When is my due date?" Shae asked. She sounded pretty excited to know.
"November 26." Wow right after thanksgiving. What if the baby comes on thanksgiving?
"That's two days after thanksgiving." Shae's really enjoying this appointment more and more.
