Jason"Is our parents still alive or what?" Grandma put her plate down beside her, and sighed.
"I don't know how to explain this to y'all?" I shook my head.
"Just tell us what happened."
"Your mother and father was in some deep trouble around the time you were born. They had to lay low and play it safe." I took a bite of my cake waiting for her to finish.
"Everything was fine until they found out she was pregnant again. The people they were hiding from found out and plotted to kill them and Brooklyn so she left."
"Why would they leave Jason behind like that?" Shae asked.
"They didn't know anything about Jason so your parents figured he would be safe with King." I let out a fake laugh.
"So let me guess. When I was born they left me with you and returned back to Jason?" Brooklyn added.
"They left you with me, so they could get Jason and go to a secret hideout. Well they did but it still wasn't safe enough for you. A year later they had Shae. They always came back and forth to see you."
"Yeah until I was 11 and they never came back."
"Things got much worse by that time and none of y'all were safe. They had to fake their death."
"They didn't have to fake their death. They were to much of a pussy to grow some balls." I was getting pissed off from this damn story.
"They did what they did to keep your ungrateful ass safe. If they stayed none of y'all would be alive." She threw her fork at me. Good thing I dodged it.
Shae and Brooklyn got up and walked into the kitchen. I followed behind them. "Well now we know the story only thing left is finding them."
"Jason do you not know how long that could possibly take?" Shae took a juice box out the fridge.
"I'll stay here as long as it takes." She rolled her eyes.
"Nigga you on your own. I got things to do."
"Well I do too, but I haven't seen them in almost 16 years! I'm not about to go another 16 years." I put my dishes in the sink then went on the back porch.
Brooklyn
Obviously Jason and Shae really aren't on the same page at the moment, but I have to side with Jason on this. After my parents missing so many years of my life, I would drop everything just to find them.
"Shae, Jason has a point. Maybe y'all should stay a little while until we find them." She flipped her hair and rolled her eyes.
"I'll stay for a few more days but I'm pregnant. I don't have time to deal with all this stress." I understand but don't Understand where she's coming from.
"Your pregnant. Jason's running like 3 empires, and I'm working 2 jobs just to make ends meet. We all got stuff we don't want to deal with but we're grown. Stop being so all about you and get on your grown woman shit."
I just met my sister and she's already aggravating. I don't see how Jason deals with it. I laid down on the couch and watched tv with grandma.
I heard slight snoring so I thought she was sleep. I picked up the remote and changed the channel. "Turn it back. I was watching that." I turned it back to the original channel it was on.
"You was sleep though." She took the remote out my hand.
"You thought." I laughed. Grandma fool.
