Darkness surrounds me.

Black... Silent... Moist... Suffocating...
I can't move my limbs from there place on either side of my exhausted body, shackles clank against the cold, damp wall I lean against.

Suddenly a door opens in front of me, a man walks inside towards me, calmly. He bends down in front of me but the shadows hit his thin face just enough to keep his features out of view. He leans in closer and kisses my mouth hard, his mouth tasting of iron and an undesirable bitterness. He quickly pulls away, leaving me breathless.

"You, my lady," he says slyly as his hot breath hits my face, "will never have to worry about being very far away from your true husband. I'll always be here."

"Why would I want to be here witb you?" an unknown voice echos out of my lips.

"Oh, my dear sister," the man says calmly, "I am the only man you want to be with. I am the only one who truly understands your vampiric needs and how Father raised you to feed."

"No," the voice whimpers again. "I have another whom I love very much, brother of mine. I want to go home to my love."

"No!" the man screams out as his fist slams unexpectedly next to my head, " You are mine! And until you realize this, you'll stay down here and rot."

"Brother! Brother!" the voice calls out as the man stands and walks back towards the door.

He turns and smirks at me, "Think about what you're doing, little sister."

He closes the door and shuts out the light with him as the voice continues to scream out for him.

"Brother!... Brother!... Brother..."

I wake up the little hands shaking my shoulders.

"Sissy?"

"Celeste!"

I open my eyes and look at my little brothers. Lucas is on my chest and Lance is sitting on the floor next to the couch. They look at me with worry written all over their faces.

"What's wrong, boys?" I ask groggily.

"You scared us, sis," Lance says.

"Don't worry about me, boys," I yawn as I grab them both and hug tight. "I just need me darling little brothers."

"Ew! Let go!" Lance squeals while Lucas giggles and hugs back. "Big boys don't hug people, sis!"

"Fine," I chuckle. "More hugs for Lucas since appreciates them."

"Sissy, I'm hungry," Lucas says in my ear. "Can we have breakfast?"

"Yeah. I'll make whatever you want. Is our grandmother up yet?"

"No. Not yet," Lance says calmly.

I nod while sigh before letting Lance go and sit up. Lucas clings onto me and nuzzles his face into my neck like he always does. I stand up, holding him on my hip, and walk inyo the kitchen with Lance following closely behind me.

"What do you want for breakfast boys?"

"Waffles!" Lance screams.

"They had that yesterday," a deep voice says behind me.

I turn and look up at my dad and smile softly.

"Hey, Dad," I yawn out. "Sleep well?"

He shrugs and sets a hand on my shoulder as he brushes passed me to get to the coffee pot on my other side. The smell of beer and cigarettes falls off of him.

"Can we have French toast?" Lucas asks quietly as I set him on the floor.

"I'll make them breakfast," Dad says as he grabs a cup from the cupbaord above us and pulls it down.

"No, Dad. I can do it. You go get some rest, and yes I will make French toast. Extra cinnamon for Lucas and scrambled eggs on the side for Lance."

I walk to the fridge and get the eggs out of it. Dad sits down at the table after pouring coffee in his cup just as my grandmother shuffles into the room. She is holding her hip and groaning as she tries to reach for a cup from the still open cupboard.

I come over, grab it for her, and kiss her cheek as I hand it to her.

"What are you making?" she asks tiredly.

"Food," I answer as I open the eggs and open another cupboard.

I reach up for a bowl and pick up an egg. My dad clears his throat as I start cracking eggs.

"So your mother was buried the day before you woke up..."

"Mikula," my grandmother sighs, "Don't talk about this now. Let us have breakfast and talk about it a different-"

"Not when I am getting calls from my father-in-law saying that my daughter has shown up with a vampire to his house at midnight. Remember that they are our enemies. There is nothing you should have to do with them. Ever. Especially since they are the ones who killed your mother."

I crush another egg on my hand and slam it on to the counter before snapping, "They didn't do it, Dad. Vampires saved me and all the kids in there. Why would they save us if they wanted to kill us in the first place? In what world would that make sense?"

"Maybe they were just after your mother?" he glares at me, and I glare back.

"Then they wouldn't have saved us. They wouldn't have cared if we died or not. Or they would have found a different way of killing her. The way everything happened just doesn't make sense!"

"Watch your tone with me young lady," he growls.

I turn my whole body towards him as he is getting to his feet.

"Go to bed, you drunk," I snap. And his hand wipes up across my face causing me tostumble back into the counter.

As his hand makes contact with my face, I hear a smash and feel something hot and wet splash onto my foot as my grandmother reaches up to control her son. Two pairs of arms quickly wrap themselves around my legs as the boys lock onto me.

My dad looks at me and as he realizes what he did, the anger on his tanned face dissappears into fear and concern. He steps forwards toward me with his hand extended to me, but as I shrink away, Lance lashes out and bites Dad's leg.

"Lance!" I gasp and try to pull him off as he is in the middle of changing into his wolf self.

He lets go of Dad, and I pull him to me, holding him with his back against my chest and his arms and legs kicking. Lucas tightens his grip in my leg and starts crying with his face pressed against my thigh.

"Mikula!" my grandmother shrieks before dragging him out of the room.

I set Lance down on a chair and hold him to me, trying to calm him down. His small face has blood around him mouth. I reach behind me and get a wash cloth from the sink. I clean his face off as he gazes at me through worried eyes.

"Sissy," he says quietly, "I'm sorry. I didn't want him hurting you anymore."

"Lance," I sigh, "You can't just bite Dad like that. That isn't okay."

"I wanted to protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you like that.

"Lance, I can do that myself. I won't let anyone hurt me, okay?"

He nods his head slightly, letting his head roll foward amd his shaggy hair cover his eyes. I hold him close to me and feel Lucas rub his cheek against me.

And we stay like that for a while.

Just me and my boys...
