A Morning Lullaby

113 3 8

On the morrow, when the night turns into day

And the sky from black to grey

It is then that you may find

Your dreams still linger in your mind

Before the light tugs them away

And then the sun will have his say

He tells you there you can not stay

For all dreams must be left behind

On the morrow

The sun appears with his first ray

Tells you that you must obey

Not to say he is unkind

But he was especally designed

To wake you up without delay

On the morrow

 ----

It was pointed out ot me that a Rondeau has 8 syllables in eahc line except the refrain, so here's my second version

On the morrow, night turns to day

And the sky fades from black to grey

It is that time that you may find

Your dreams still linger in your mind

Before the light tugs them away

And then the sun will have his say

He tells you there you can not stay

For all dreams must be left behind

On the morrow

The sun appears with his first ray

To tell you that you must obey

That does not mean he is unkind

He was especially designed

To wake you up without delay

On the morrow
