Walking home that night from Cami's, I felt slightly at easy. Knowing that someone knew, it felt like for once I didn't have the weight of the world on my shoulder. Taking another turn, I came upon an empty street, this was quiet unusual for New Orleans, therefore I became more aware of my surrounding. My heart rate sky rocketed, when I heard the footsteps of someone else. They had just appeared out of nowhere, reaching in my pocket I clutched my wooden stake. My only source of getting out of this situation. Picking up my speed, my heart was almost in my mouth. The footsteps became faster with me, creeping up closer and closer. Until I could here them just behind me. That was when a hand grabbed my shoulder.
Swirling around as fast as I could, I held the stake in my hand and swung with all my strength the stake towards the man, trying to impale him. "Easy now, easy now! Don't take off my head" he grabbed my arm forcing me to stop while he surrendered with the other. Glancing up at the attacker, I released a massive sigh, as I tried to get my breathing and heart rate black down to normal. "Jesus fucking Christ Kol, you scared the living day-lights out of me! What were you thinking, is it too much just to announce yourself like a normal person" I started to rant, giving him a light punch. "Hey, hey. I just came up to say hello, and ask why you were patrolling the streets at such a late hour?" I explained to him that I was just walking home from spending the day at Cami's, and I insisted that Nik needn't walk me home. We set off walking again back to my home, while he started to interrogate me "you spent the day with Nik? And you call him Nik? Am I missing something here?" His glare became apparent, when he stood in front of me, that he wasn't joking. "Nothing, you are missing nothing, he was just spending time with Cami when I turned up. And he stayed, allowing me to play with little Hope", this caused his frown to deepen, looking at me intently, "he never lets anyone besides family and those he has closest to him be around Hope". I slid around him and carried on my walk "I don't really know what to say to that... He's a nice guy, and is helping me deal with something from my past that I can never repay him for if it works".
As we reached my apartment block, I opened the doors and he follows in and we began to climb the stairs. "He's helping you with what from your past?" He asked as we finished the stairs and I began to unlock my door, I replied to him with a stutter explaining that it was nothing. I entered my apartment leaving the door open, knowing that he hadn't been invited in yet. "Evangeline, why won't you let me in, I want to help you. I need to know you, and what going on" he looked at me as I placed my stuff down. I turned to him looking up at his tall figure, I just sighed and tried to think of something to say. "Never mind, maybe I can get Nik to stop by then later". With that he started to turn around and walk back down my corridor. "No, Wait! Kol, wait!" I exclaimed to grab his attention. He sighed and reluctantly turned back around and looked at me with a tired expression and a curious eyebrow raised. "Kol you can erm... You can come in..." This caused his tired expression to evaporate and a surprised, eager yet cautious one to replace it. I backed up from my doorway, trapping myself on the counter, as he made his way into my home, gently shutting the door behind him.
My breath started to pick up along with my heart rate as he came close to me. I could now feel his minty breath on my face, as he tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear, then trailing his finger along my lip. Before looking me in the eye, "do you trust me?". He kept on inching closer, resting his forehead on mine. "I feel like this is the part in the movie where I say the truth, and you break that by murdering me" I joked, as he began to softly chuckle and he shook his head "I could never hurt you". With that he grabbed behind my thighs just below my bum, picking me up and putting me on the counter. With this increase in height, I was now face to face with the original. Plucking up the courage I kissed him first, he pressed himself between my legs, wrapping his hands around my torso bringing me impossibly close. While he tried to go further with the kiss, I broke off, trying to catch my breath. Unlike Kol who started to kiss down my neck. Until he came back up to my face, and question "what is Klaus helping you with?" He questioned me, putting his hands either side of my face looking deep into the eyes. Taking a deep breath preparing to tell him my most darkest, deepest secret. My voice wavered slightly, as I cleared my throat. "My father... he's helping me stay away from my father".
