Himeko's POV

"I've been thinking of taking care of my own business for a while now," I said as Kuroko-kun was making us some midnight hot choco. "Some of the businesses my father used to handle are actually in my name. That's something my father can’t do anything about."

"What about your brother?"

"I don't think he knows yet."

"And your mother?" Kuroko brought the two mugs as he sat beside me on the living room floor.

"I'm not sure. She was never in control either ways. She was nothing but a stage wife. She hasn't tried to contact me either."

"May I suggest something?" Kuroko asked and I nodded. "Why don't you try beating your father at his own game? It may not be the nicest thing you could do but it’s worth a shot."

"That's brilliant, Kuroko-kun! And perhaps the sooner the better."

"Why is that?" he asked then took a sip of his hot choco.

"W-well, I've been nothing but a burden to you, I just thought if I could build up a supporting finance, I could get out of your hair."

Ever so slightly, Kuroko smiled.

"On the contrary, things have been quite interesting ever since you stayed with me." Ni-chan came barking through the room. I chuckled at the cute little dog.

"Are you sure, Kuroko? I just don't want to be a bother." Kuroko shook his head and I smiled.

"I'll be rooting for you, Miyuki-chan." I smiled and thanked him.

Kagami's POV

The next day, I woke up pretty worn off from training. I had school today so today pretty much sucks.

I got ready and left my house. I usually walked to school. On the way, I bumped into so familiar lookin' lady.

"Ah, gomenasai," she apologized. "I-it’s okay," I said. Suddenly, realization hit me.

"W-wait a second, aren't you Himeko's mom?" I asked and she smiled. "Ah, you're one of Hime-chan's friends! Please, do you know where my daughter is? Something happened and I haven't seen her since."

I knew it. It was a family thing.

"She's been staying with one of us and she's probably at school now so..."

"O-of course. Well, I have a favor to ask of you. Please tell her to meet me at Maji Burger after school, it's quite urgent." I nodded.

"Sure thing."

"Arigato gozaimasu," she said with a smile and left. I sighed.

I guess I have a message to deliver.

Kise's POV

Right after school, I headed straight for Seirin, asking the coach to excuse me from practice. I just haven't seen Hime in a while so I just thought I could drop by.

"Hime!!" I yelled cheerfully as I burst onto the basketball court. Heads turned to me and I smiled.

"Kise-kun?" Hime asked with a clueless look.

"KYAA!! Himecchi is really kawaii!!" I squealed, attacking her with a hug. "Ne~ Let's go out afterschool!"

"Kise-kun, I can't... breathe!"

"Eh! Gomen!"

"Oi, I just remembered," Kagamicchi said out loud. "I met your mom on the way to school today. She told me to tell you to meet her at Maji Burger after school." Hime was struck with surprise.

"N-ne, Himecchi? A-are you going?"

"I don't really have a choice.."

"But what if he's there?" Kuroko-kun asked.

"He wouldn't go to a place like Maji Burger unless it meant business." Himecchi looked worried though.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"What am I going to tell her, Kise-kun? What does she have to say?"

"Guess you'll just have to wait and see." She sighed then nodded.

"Well then I guess I better leave..."

"Call me after," Kurokocchi said and she nodded, then left. I guess he already knows what was going on.

Himeko's POV

"Mother..." I muttered as I approached her at Maji Burger. She was seated in an isolated booth. I sat down and she smiled.

"Ara, Hime-chan, it's been a while," she said with a smile, getting a bit teary eyed.

"Okaa-san, please don't cry."

"I'm sorry I couldn't help you darling," she said. "I should have stopped him. But you know how your father is..." she was literally sobbing now.

"You really love him, don't you?" I asked and she nodded.

"My darling, your father is very rough on the edges but he is a wonderful man."

"Is he? Or is that what you want to believe?"

"Himeko, don't talk so rudely about your father!"

"But it's the truth," I said bluntly. "To him, you're nothing but a stage wife. Face it mother, the man is corrupted. All these years, he's been using you, he's been using me, he's even using my brother. We're nothing but pawns to him. And since the last time I checked, he’s no longer my father."

"He's doing it for our good-"

"He's doing it for himself. You're blinding yourself, mother. I am happy with what I've done. I'm glad I left. But back since you’re too blind to see the truth, go to him and send him a message from me."

My mother looked nervous. Obviously, I shook her up a bit.

"He's going down. I'm definitely no longer his daughter. I'm his business rival. Tell him to watch his back. And when my brother comes home, tell him everything that has happened. And tell him I love him."

Kuroko's POV

Miyuki-chan texted me that it was over and she right on time because I was already outside if Maji Burger. She came out with two shakes in hand.

"This one is for you," she said with a smile, handing me a shake.

"Arigato," I said and we started walking home.

"So, what happened?" I asked.

"She's still head over heels for him. I guess I have no choice but to exert at least a bit of effort."

"So you're saying that whatever you've been doing before was nothing?" She nodded. Miyuki was indeed an interesting person. And she reminds me of Aomine.

When we got home, Miyuki took a shower while I fixed dinner for the both of us.

"Do I smell curry?" she asked as she stepped out. I smiled and set the plates and she was eager to help.

"Miyuki-chan, you should dry your hair properly," I said as she sat down. I grabbed the towel that was slung around her shoulders and dried her hair. It didn't take less than two minutes to lessen the dampness.

"Arigato," she said with a smile then we both started eating. Afterwards, I took a bath myself. When I got out, Miyuki was typing away on her laptop.

"What's that?" I asked as I dried my hair.

"Just a few emails for the people at my companies. I think I'll make things official." I nodded and hung my towel up. She shut down her laptop and sat on the bed, then sighed.

"You sure seem tired," I said and she gave a small smile. I joined her on the bed and we both fell asleep quickly.
