Black Eye

In the morning, Kelly came into my room and literally had to pull me out of bed.
"What's up sleepy head?" She asked laughing at my bed head.
I looked in the mirror at myself. All my hair had gone static and I'd forgotten to take my makeup off the night before so I looked like something out of a horror movie. Not that I've watched any before.

Lila had already gone downstairs so I was left to make her bed for her. I went into the bathroom and cleaned my face off, which took about 10 minutes, and then went down to breakfast. At the breakfast table, Clem threw a blunt knife with Jam on the end at me. It stained my new crop top and there looked like I had been stabbed.
Just then Kelly walked in not noticing my stain and pushed us all out of the orphanage to go to school. I couldn't even change my T-shirt. Rapidly knocking on the door, I then tried to explain to Kelly that I needed to change my T-shirt. She just laughed and said, "now then Mandy! You've tried that one before! Go to school!"

Exasperated I ran to school trying to cover up as much of the stain as possible. Class has already started when I got there and the teacher embarrassed me by making a big thing about being late. Most of the class sniggered and whispered while pointing at me. Cr*p! I forgot to cover up the spot.

Once the lesson had actually started, I tried to calm myself down and do the work. But I was so tired that I actually feel asleep on the desk! I woke up later in the day. The teacher had obviously not bothered paying any attention to me and not noticing that I was asleep. When I looked at the clock, it was already lunch time!! I couldn't believe that I had gotten away with that school crime!

Happy for the moment, I ran out with my bags and went down the corridor.
Unfortunately, I was stopped in the corridor by a massive bunch of kids. One of them, an aggressive looking girl, sneered at my jammy spot and then said, "what's up sleepy face? Couldn't stay awake to bare that new dead look you've got?"
I rolled my eyes and tried to walk away.

This thing happened quite a lot. I thought that maybe she was just going to throw a cup of cold water at me. I was wrong. Two tall boys blocked my path and made me stumble back into the girl. She gave me a dirty look and then swung her arm at me. I was so not expecting it!! Her first made contact with my face and I suddenly felt really dizzy. In a flash I was on the floor and they were all kicking me. I could almost feel the bruises forming on my thin body.
"Ha! Maybe that will keep you awake freak!" Yelled the aggressive girl.
"I think the black eye suits her Jam top!!"sniggered another girl. The group thought this remark was hilarious and they started repeating it.
" happy with your new look? "
"I luuuv your make up today!"
"Can I borrow your top? We ran out of Jam at home!"
All those kinds of rude comments.

Eventually (and luckily!) they got bored of hurting me and the while lot of them ran off laughing. Sighing with relief, I tried to get up. But I couldn't. My bones and muscles vent like they had been removed. I was aching all over and I felt really weak.

My eye throbbed and throbbed as I waited for someone to come help me up. This took a really long time, as most people who walked past just laughed and kicked me, or they took a picture.
At last, someone stopped to help me. I was surprised to find that the kind boy was Sam.
"Are you alright?" He asked quietly, picking me up. Then he smiled. I never saw him smile before, but his smile made me feel better instantly. Like I was warm inside. I would have smiled back but I couldn't feel my face.

"I'm... Fine!" I managed to lie. He attempted to help me walk, but I collapsed. When I looked up at him, his expression had changed and he looked more serious.
"We need to get help for you!"
I glanced at him hoping my face would tell him that it was no use.
But he ignored me and dragged me to the nearest classroom. "Sir! Mandy is badly injured."
