*THIS CHAPTER WILL BE IN THIRD PERSON*
Chapter Forty-one-
Aleksandr didn't know how to feel anymore. He could remember once thinking that Sera was too Light, that she didn't have enough Darkness in her to be his mate. Now he was seeing that she may have even more than him.
How long ago that seemed.
But then again it wasn't really her, was it? She wasn't the one in control, right? The slaughters they came upon couldn't of been her doing. Sera would've never done any of this in the right mind.
Still though, there was that doubt. Sera was apart of a prophecy- a prophecy that they all knew very little about. It had been first a story that was passed down through the royal family but as time wore on and the due date came closer, seers were actually seeing it. Even Aleksandr's mother had not been an exception to that. It wasn't a tale no more. It was their Judgement Day.
It was still a mystery to this day on who first foresaw this destruction. And now it didn't matter. The time was upon them.
Thankfully they had both Eileen and Adara in their custody. This bloodbath was only from one and the prophecy foretold of three. Aleksandr feared what would happen if the other two cracked- if that even was the trigger. Until the group finds Sera, they'll have no way of knowing what caused her to do this. And still, he blindly hoped that it wasn't her who did this.
Darius almost bit his head off when he suggested placing Adara in shackles. Eileen was already subdued and it blocked all her powers. Aleksandr thought that if Adara was in the same situation, it might hold Chaos back. Adara had been against the idea as well though, and now they continued at his side.
All Aleksandr could hope for is that Adara had as much control as she insinuated. She was the epitome of composed elegance. Nothing seemed to faze her and she seemed to take surprises in stride.
Eileen appeared to be the opposite to him. She was dirtied, malnourished, and an emotional wreck. It was a mystery to the Werewolf. If Chaos happened beyond her control, how was she able to hold on and Sera had not?
Whether they figured out how it happened though, if either Adara or Eileen continued in Sera's path, they were all as good as dead. They had to get to Sere beforehand but everywhere was the same. There was only a dead silence, corpses mangled sickeningly.
The Prince felt no remorse for them. All he could bring himself to care about was Sera. Each destination they hit was a miss. And he couldn't pick up her scent at all like at the Halfling village. It was as if he never had a mate and it made his Wolf panic. The only thing that gave him a semblance of calmness was Darius and Adara, who could detect by the freshness of the kills that they were getting closer. They were closing in on her and it would only be a matter of time. That's what Aleksandr had to keep telling himself.
Now that he was a bit more aware of what was going on though, Aleksandr realized how crazed he had been. There was still a hint of desperation in his decisions but knowing that Sera was wandering around free, he felt foolish for raising such an expansive army. He even told Cressida that they could begin there way back but stay alert. They attacked some Creatures after all.
As for Darius, he kept a few men on their end. They wouldn't have any clue what state Sera was in mentally right now. And though the Vampire didn't suggest it, Aleksandr knew his friend was prepared to subdue Sera if necessary.
