Ota POV
I was on a date. But I was by no means having a good time. She was a cat woman and I hated those types.
The art museum was spent with her drawled all over my arm, and I hated the way she knew nothing about my work but still pretended.
If Krystal knew nothing she didn't pretend she was alright. She was always complimentary on my pieces; this woman didn't even realise which they were.
I still miss her. But I shake myself to rid myself of thoughts of Krystal.
"OTA!" Candy, or 'cat woman' as I've renamed her, squeals and I cringe. She pulls at my arm and I take her through into the other exhibit as she gets bored.
The next is filled with my sketches and a necklace I had made for a fashion show. I walk in, not too concerned with my works as I was the others.
Until I saw her.
Krystal.
She was walking across the piece I did two years ago, to the art work I had completed 7 months ago, and showed her first for opinions. She had given me confidence on something I never needed before; I had found it weird. But with her it was easier...natural.
Her facial expression changes as if remembering too and I feel a slight tug on my arm. "Ota!" cat woman pouts.
Krystal turns and gasps, "O-Ota?" she asks hesitantly and I sigh.
"Krystal... how are you?" I ask, proud of myself for keeping a level tone. Usually I show my exes just what they were missing, but Krystal? Could I be that harsh on her? I doubted it. If I can cause her pain once, I'll be lucky. Because I was still in love with her.
Krystal POV
"-how are you?" he asks, looking as if he doesn't care less.
"I-I'm fine." I reply, "Just appreciating some modern art." I say quietly looking down to avoid those caramel eyes. I fiddle with my foral sweater design and look down at my outfit.
Reasonable- Good enough for Ota.
"I suppose private investigators don't." he says and pulls the woman he is with toward him by the waist.
"No- ah- he doesn't." I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear and look up to see his set face.
Although the features were set, acting as if he didn't care, something else was in his eyes and I smile and rub his shoulder.
"I'm glad you're well Ota. It's been a while." I say and think of the mistake I had made. I knew he was never going to take me back as he was too proud, and didn't care.
I missed him though, and I knew that no one could compare to him.
I just... wanted more than the title of girlfriend, and he had never hinted for anything more.
"It has. I hope Dan is well." he says gritting his teeth and setting his jaw.
"Yeah, we don't speak." I whisper and he looks at me, narrowing his eyes.
"That's unfortunate."
"Ota!" his girlfriend complains and tugs against him. The jealous, protective side of me comes out and I want to run into his arms and claim him as mine.
But you can't because you messed up. You were greedy. You had something perfect and you chucked it away because you were selfish enough to want a ring.
"I'm so sorry Ota." I whisper and his eyes go wide, "I messed up. I'm so sorry."
"You won't tell me the truth." he hisses, and I look down.
"You can ask me- " "OTA!" "-anything."
"I'm not sure..-" "I know." I whisper and step toward him. "I'm so so sorry."
"Why did you see him at the same time as me-"
"I didn't there was no over lapse I swear! I'll explain-"
"He's on a date with me!" she says in a hump and stamps her foot like a child.
"Sorry-" I was apologising a lot, "-I'll leave you and your new girlfriend."
"Yeah, we are on a date." he says coldly and my bottom lip trembles.
I look at all the pieces, reminders of him and our times together and give a fake smile. "Goodbye Ota."
"I love you..." I whisper as I walk away and I hear him calling my name. But I had already left the building and choke back the tears.
I whip on my uniform for work, and rush to my car to start my shift.
As I deal with constant complaints and issues all I could think about was my Master...or just Ota now, I guess.
Does he call her Koro? I had always hated that, but the idea of him calling anyone else that was painful.
I couldn't bear to see him with anyone else, but what if she was truly giving him what he wanted? What if he was her Master?
What if he's forgotten about me?
