In fear and shame
In war and strife,
What is it that brings
The dead to life?
A distant future
A lonely wife?
Loss makes us want to bring
The dead to life.
A previous lie
Brought to sight,
Truth can make us wish
The dead to life.
Nothing left,
But the sight,
Of all you knew,
All that was right.
You once knew a love
That gave things life.
Brought them from darkness,
And showed them the light.
Your love once brought things
To life.
