I ran farther and farther, trying my best not to get caught. The police guard kept shouting profanities at me, thinking that it would help him on stopping me. But he thought wrong. I ran like wildfire until I spotted an alley, I ran to it and saw a tall wire fence, I climbed quickly and jumped. I stopped running and laughed knowingly as the fat old police guard cant do what I just did.

I walked out of the alley with my head hung low. But stopped when I saw a flash of blue and red lights in my vision. My eyes widened in shock. I debated with myself if I should make a run for it or not but then, I soon realized that it was hopeless since I was already cornered by a bunch of police men. So I put my arms up in surrender while a police man around his thirties came closer and started to enclose my hands with an iron-like bracelets.

"Really Maxine? You really think I don't know your shenanigans?" The police man spoke as he ushered me towards the police car.

"Oh Coby, you know me so well!" I said sarcastically as I ducked my head as I went inside and Coby sat on the driver's seat. "So Coby, hows the wife and kids?" I scooted closer to the wires which acted as a barrier and divided me and the police men at the front.

"Oh you know, doing great. Natalie just cant stop talking about those damn diamond earrings that came out yesterday," He sighed. The police man beside him just looks at him weirdly. Confused on to why a man who has served the country fair and right for ten years, talking to a culprit that has every right to remain silent. He must be the new kid that Coby was talking about last week.

"Yo, newbie." I called. He looks at me in horror, as if I was one of Casper the friendly ghost's uncles that everyone was absolutely terrified of. "Whats your name?" I asked.

"Robin." He says. A frightened look was etched on his face.

"Oh, so its Batman and Robin! Okay, Robin, when did you start working here?" I asked, emphasizing the word Robin.

"How did you know I was new here?" He asked.

"Well, for starters, you look terrified as fuck," I laughed in amusement and Coby laughs along. "Two, You're hella quiet." I said.

"Cant I just take my job seriously?" He asks with a smirk on his face, finally being confident on what he was saying. Coby and I stared at each other and started laughing like two mad men thats gone crazy.

"Oh God Coby! This Newbie cracks me up! I like him." I sighed as I wipe a tear from my eye. Robin rolls his eyes and slumps in his chair.

"Loosen up on him Max! Its his first day on the job," Coby says and looks at his side view mirror.

"Why are you talking to her? She's a criminal!" He exclaimed, suddenly going out of his small bubble.

"Hey! Get your facts straight! I ain't a criminal, Im a thief!" I say proudly, straightening my back and puffing out my chest.

I surely ask myself this question everyday, but I never knew the reason on to why I was so darn proud at everything I do. Yes I knew it was wrong and I cant help myself but to start and feel guilty. But somehow I didn't care if this was wrong, this was my getaway and I never want it to change.

"Whatever! Thats practically the same thing!" He exclaimed. I forced out an emotionless laugh and roll my eyes.

Yo, this man got no chill.

"Robin, it's your first day on the job. I don't expect you to be calm about all this. But as the years pass by, your gonna think about all this and laugh," Coby explains, keeping his eyes on the road. Robin simply looks out the window and nods his head. 10 minutes later, we were already at the police station. Robin opened his side door and went to mine.
