As we entered the room all eyes turned to us even the teacher stood silent in pity at the sight of our injuries

"You two sit up front over there" she ordered gesturing to two empty seats right in front of the teachers desk. We nodded and quickly took our seats keeping our eyes down so we didn't meet with Janes cold cruel stare. The lesson dragged by as we listened to one of Shakespeare's famous plays. My arm throbbed and the cut over my eye began to bleed again so we got out early.

"Oh dearie me" the nurse mumbled when it was me whom she found at the infirmary door

"What happened this time miss Storm?" she asked in a very stern manner

"Oh nothing it just started bleeding again this morning, I accidently bumped it in English" I explained to her. I could see relief flood her face

"So its not the case of you should see the other guy then" she assumed raising an eyebrow as she got the cotton balls from the draw and antiseptic from the cupboard above the sink.

"Well actually that was last night miss Bander" I sheepishly answered

"Ahh so Jane jumped you yesterday after school I presume?" she pushed

"Yes" I replied. I was silent from then on until I got the ok to go to my next class. We got there right on the bell so we just turned around and went to break.

"We should go and see if you are still able to perform" suggested Alice who sat with us

"Great idea" I agreed, we leapt up  and made our way to the performing stage. People were running everywhere setting everything up for tonight production.

"Excuse me Mr Duran would you mind if we use the indoor stage at lunch?" Marlene inquired with a great big pleading smile.

"Ok girls but only you three and Indira will you be pulling  out with your injuries?" he answered and questioned at the same time.

"Well that's why we want to go there at lunch   to see if I can still perform" I replied cheerfully. I could hear the bell in the distance.

"You girls better be off now" Mr Duran advised

"Bye sir and thankyou" Marlene called behind her. We chatted excitedly all of our third and forth lessons until the lunch bell sounded. I was out the door dragging my bag behind me. I couldn't wait to get to the hall so I could try out my new dance I had been creating in my mind  ever since  this morning. the new dance would involve much more foot work than the first one but that wouldn't worry me so much. I was already in the door and taking off my shoes before Marlene and Alice were able to catch up with me.

"wow for an injured mouse you still move exceptionally fast" puffed Alice sitting down on a mat at the edge of the stage.

"Hey that's a good thing though" I replied scrolling through the songs on my phone and putting my boom box on the upturned metal bucket. the music started to play I ran to the middle of the stage and crouched down. I waited still and silent as the music lazily drifted through the hall ever so slowly building up. I started to gracefully twist and turn a quiet series of movements all in exact time to the slow even beats, until the climax  of the intro was reached both the music and myself burst to life. Quick fluent steps followed the bouncing melody. I was working around my injuries marvellously well,

"it looks effortless Indi!" Marlene applauded from the side lines. I gave just enough emphasis to each step to count for my second arms absence.

"This one is better than your original one because its showing the beauty you still carry with your wounds" Alice complimented.

"why thank you" I replied in an English accent, I stopped and gave them a very deep bow. We all burst out laughing.
