Holly scraped the rest of the hose water off Troll Soul's pelt after his hard lesson. She put him in his stall, giving him oat balls once he settled in. She walked toward where she would usually hear Kim and Secret Heather talk secretly, whispers becoming louder as she got closer.
"Kim, you can't trust her! She broke her jaw!"
"I hate you. Get off me."
"You know you want me! You need me! You need my help!"
"You made a big mistake coming here!" Kim started to walk off, Holly going to act like she just walked up. "Oomph!" They made each other drop their things.
"Kim!" Holly exclaimed.
"Holly?" He jerked his head up, eyes wide. "Uhh–did you hear any of that?"
"Of what?" She lied.
"Nothing! Umm, how are you?"
"Fine, you?"
"Well . . . I've been feeling I need a break for some time. . . I was wondering if you wanted to come to the movies with me for a break?"
"As a date?"
"No, no! I didn't mean it as that. I know how you don't like to be thought of us like tha—"
"Sure. Why not?"
Kim stood there confused for a moment, frozen of midway of picking up his Horse Health class book from the ground. Holly, on the other hand smiled brightly, trying not to act stupid. She felt a new feeling. Her stomach turned, her heart beat faster every second, she suddenly got lost in his eyes. "Umm, okay?" His voice brought her back to normal, and he was cheerful.
"What time and movie?"
"Well, I was going to bring in a TV to our dorm from the Borrowing Room by the tack stuff, and I was wondering if we could watch something . . . Or something." Kim straightened up.
"Sure, okay."
"Ooh! I remember you couldn't make it to IrishBee's race that one time. Your lucky I recorded it. We could watch that!"
"Definitely. Well, I'm going to . . . Go home and study crap."
He chuckled which made her heart lurch, "I can definitely relate."
"M-mom?"
"Yes Ke–oh! Holly . . . I thought . . . You didn't want to call me that?" Julia set the wet cloth down, putting the plate in the dishwasher.
"U-um . . . I'm going out tonight. Kenzie said she was busy . . . so uhh," Holly tucked her hair behind her ear, clearly feeling awkward about this conversation, "Could you help me, for something to wear? I mean, I know I don't have much stuff but, yeah?"
Julia smiled and inhaled deeply, "Let me finish the dishes."
Sure enough, once Julia was finished with the dishes she followed her new daughter upstairs and into her room. "So, what do we do now?"
"Well, first step on your first date is—"
"You know?" Holly's eyes widened.
"As a mother, I know everything. So first, we need to find you an outfit!"
"How do we do that?"
"Well," Julia lifted one glittery purple dress and a silky navy blue dress from Kenzie's closet, "you don't have much . . . Let's try them on and see how you look!"
She grabbed the two dresses and went into the bathroom, changing quickly so her mom didn't have to wait. Holly walked out with the silky navy blue dress, it swung eligentley.
"Beautiful! Go try on the other one."
Once again she came from the bathroom, only this time, she had the glittery purple dress. "I think I like the blue better."
"Yes, definitely. Where did I even get that one?" Julia looked around, trying to find something. "Anyway, you'll be wearing the navy blue, so now makeup!"
"Makeup?"
"Yes, yes! I may be an equestrian, but I know how the city things work. Follow me," she led Holly to her master bathroom, sitting her in a chair and grabbing her makeup bag.
"You have a makeup bag?"
"Yup! But I only use it for special occasions," Julia pulled out foundation, mascara, eye liner, lipstick, blush, and a bunch of other stuff.
"Woah," Holly held her hands up, "I may be part of the city but no, no, of too much of that!"
"Wanna impress that boy?" She smirked.
"Well . . . Yeah?"
"Oh thank god, I didn't want to use my makeup for just 'fun.'" Julia set those items back in the back, zipping it up and putting it away. "So, who is it?" She asked after a few silent minutes lasted.
"Who's what?"
"The boy?"
Holly stayed silent for a moment and answered, "Kim Lerry."
Julia gasped and squealed.
"What was that?" She gave her a wild eye.
"I'm sorry, your my first daughter to actually tell me—"
"HONEY THE BABY IS CRYING AGAIN!" Piper yelled through the house.
Julia groaned and got up, "Well, duty calls. Go brush some horses down for me, yeah?"
"Sure, I'll do that." Holly smiled as she watched her mother walk down the hall toward Keith's room.
Sorry for the late update, I'm sick today😷it sucks.
