Chapter eleven: Rejection

They stayed like that for some time. Embracing each other tightly and didn't let go even for a second. They were afraid that if they did, they would be separated once more. Nao finally decided to pull back and Eisuke held her face in his palms after they broke the embrace.

"I've been looking for you for so long, Nana.." Eisuke said as he brushed his thumbs against Nao's cheek to wipe her tears away. She reached for Eisuke's hand on her cheek and she looked at him longingly. They looked at each other until Nao broke the eye contact and looked away. She tried to calm herself down and took a deep breath.

"I lost the bracelet you gave when we were still kids." Nao said as tears started to come out again from her eyes. Eisuke brushed the tears away and smiled gently at her.

"It's okay, look." Eisuke let go of Nao and opened his drawer. He took out the bracelet from his drawer and gave it back to Nao who's totally in shock.

"I found it in Ota's garden yesterday." Eisuke said as he took Nao's hand gently. He put the bracelet on her wrist and held her hand in his.

"I couldn't focus after I found this bracelet because the thought of you being nearby and related to Ota drives me nuts." Eisuke confessed to her. Nao didn't say a word and was still in a total shock. Eisuke patted her head softly.

"There's just too much to take, I know. But here you are, standing in front of me safe and sound." Eisuke said as the corner of his lips curved into a smile Nao had missed so much. Nao's hand found its way to Eisuke's head and her fingers trailed down from his hair to his cheek. Eisuke seemed to be enjoying her touch as he closed his eyes when Nao's fingers made contact with his skin. Nao still has to process the sudden revelation. She still couldn't believe that her long lost childhood love was always close to her and the fact that he is now standing in front of her almost makes her go nuts.

"I missed you, Eisuke." Nao whispered softly. Eisuke opened his eyes and chuckled which made Nao's head tilt in confusion.

"What are you laughing at?" Nao asked innocently.

"You couldn't pronounce my name right back then and was always calling me Esuke instead of Eisuke." Eisuke said as he laughed upon the memory. Nao's face heated up in embarrassment and this somehow made Eisuke laughs harder.

"I was still a little kid back then, stop making fun of me!" Nao said as her face flushed deeper shade of red. Eisuke couldn't stop laughing which made Nao a little irritated and fled from the room immediately. Well, that shut Eisuke though.

"Hey, I was just enjoying the moment alright? Wait!" Eisuke called as he chased after Nao. He knew that she's annoyed but he couldn't help himself from grinning like an idiot while chasing after her.

"Nao!" A voice called out and Nao turned to look at the owner of the voice. She smiled and waved at the one who called. Soryu smiled back ran up to her.

"Where are you going?" Soryu asked as he walked beside Nao.

"I'm thinking of going staright home since I have finished all of my classes. What about you?" Nao asked back. Soryu thought for a second until an idea flashed on his mind.

"Want to grab some ice cream?" Soryu asked as he grinned towards her. Nao smiled and nodded in agreement. Without waiting any further, Soryu took her wrist and they walked away from the campus. Nao was surprised upon the contact but she didn't mind since she thought it was not a big deal. She didn't know that pair of eyes are watching them from afar and the person clenched his fists as he watched them exit the campus.

Soryu and Nao finally arrived at the ice cream parlor. They ordered what they want and sat on an open seat near the clear glass window.
