I walk down the glistening pavement pondering on what happened at school today. It's the first day back and everything appears to have stayed the same.

"Hey wait up!" My best friend Amethyst called. Just like her name, the color of her hair was also amethyst which is a shade of purple.

"I would've waited for you, but you looked busy flirting with that Aaron guy over there," I say as I paused and pointed to a group of guys who appeared to be staring right at us.

"Hey would you look at that! They're checking you out! But then again, that's no surprise since everybody checks you out," she says with a grin on her face.

I respond with, "Oh whatever! Get in the car, I want yogurt."

I am now sixteen which means I no longer have to stay home all day and can go wherever I want whenever. It's not that I hate home, it just gets boring sometimes since I'm the only child. I remember asking my parents if I could have a sibling but their only response was, "Having you is already hard enough," which I never understood since I never really did anything bad my whole entire life. It was as though, I was mistake proof, like making a mistake was never in my dictionary. Hard to understand, I know. I guess it's a part of being half Angel, to never make a mistake.

"Hey watch out!" Amethyst yelled distracting me from my own thoughts, "You almost ran over that cat!"

"Amy, that was a toy chipmunk!" I laughed. Amethyst could be pretty paranoid sometimes.

"Phew! I thought we just murdered an innocent cat," she takes a deep sigh of relief. She's one of those people who loves animals so much, they'd feel as though they were the ones getting hurt.

Now, let's go back to my story. My mother's name is Autumn and she married my dad Raine. The first time they met, my mother didn't really know my father was an Angel, he was disguised as a human being. I don't really know what he was doing on Earth nor do I want to. But anyway, they fell in love and after being together for about two years, my father came clean to my mom and told her about his true identity. It took a while for my mother to process the new found info but when she did, she realized she loved him so much, she didn't care what he truly was. And so, they got married and they had me.

At first, my parents thought I was going to grow up to be a human. But, it wasn't until I was five that I started developing my wings. The weird thing is, my wings weren't white, they were black. Which was ironic since only dark angels had black wings. I remember asking my mom why they were black and her only response was, "Just remember, you are a good Angel, you're not bad," which was even more ironic. But, what can I do, I was young and believed anything adults told me.

Then, at the age of ten, I finally learned how to command my wings to go away and that was when I started schooling and that was also the time I met Amethyst. We have been best friends ever since.
