'Are you feeling alright, Snips?' Anakin asked for what must have been the thousandth time since they'd begun their trip back to Coruscant on the Twilight. Ahsoka groaned at his question.
'Master, I told you. I'm fine.' She muttered irritably. He raised an eyebrow in amusement at her. 'Why do you keep asking, anyway?' She questioned as she pulled herself up from a slouching position in her seat.
'Because, Ahsoka, you almost died about a thousand times.' Anakin's smirk didn't impress her.
'I didn't almost die. I knew what I was doing!'
'Of cooourseee you did.' He sighed, shaking his head. 'You're impossible, my young Padawan.' Ahsoka huffed and rested her chin in her hand, glaring at her Master. She knew, obviously, that he was right; she was quite impossible. She just didn't like admitting it. 'Hey, don't you give me that look. You know I'm right.' The cocky smirk didn't leave his face, and Ahsoka couldn't help but roll her eyes. Sometimes Anakin was the impossible one.
'Anyway, we should be arriving at Corusca- ohh, that's not good.' His expression wavered.
'What?' Ahsoka asked, stifling a yawn. Sure, she felt fine, but that didn't mean she wasn't tired as hell.
'We have a... Umm... Problem.' Anakin gave her a lopsided, apologetic smile. 'The fuel cells are on fire.'
'What?! A fire in the fuel cells?! How does that even happen?! Oh, boy.' Ahsoka buried her head in her hands.
'Don't worry Snips, we'll live.' He sarcastically replied, as his hands flew across the controls. 'We'll just have to make an emergency crash landing on Coruscant.'
'We can't emergency crash land on Coruscant! What if we injure someone?! What if the engine blows up and we destroy buildings?!' Ahsoka was in a state of slight panic, much to her Master's annoyance.
'Seriously, Ahsoka, we're going to be fine. Calm down. We're not going to kill anyone.' Ahsoka failed to catch the hint of impatience in his voice.
'Well how did you not notice the cells were on fire?!!'
'Ahsoka!!'
Ahsoka gave a final groan before gripping her controls tightly.
The ship dropped out of hyperspace, Coruscant looming before them. Anakin manoeuvred the ship towards a fixed spot on the planet, picking up speed.
'Where are you planning on crash landing?' Ahsoka asked.
'Somewhere near the warehouse district, so we don't kill anyone.'
She rolled her eyes at his response, which was an obvious jab at her. However, her worry did lessen slightly.A few minutes later they entered the atmosphere of the planet, zooming down towards a large clump of seemingly deserted massive buildings (although it was hard to tell considering the area was in complete in darkness, no thanks to the fact that it was night time); warehouses.
'Hold on, Snips.' Anakin's voice was strained.
'I'm-' she was cut off by the ear splitting scraping sound of metal against metal as they crashed into the top of one of the buildings, then proceeded to skid along the top. Ahsoka's hands flew up to cover her ears, and the ship halted to a stop after skidding another fifty yards.
Ahsoka let out a sigh of relief, bringing her hands down to unstrap her seatbelt. Of course, she never truly doubted her Master's flying abilities, but the thought did sometimes come to mind.
'Well, that was fun, wasn't it, Snips?' Anakin smirked, offering her a hand to help her stand up, as the ship was tilted down, and she was on the lower side. She furiously swatted it away as she climbed up out of her seat.Upon exiting the ship, Ahsoka couldn't help but laugh at the damage her Master had inflicted on the poor old ship. The bottom half was completely scorched, and the larger wing was tilted at an odd angle, obviously from the impact.
'What're you laughing about?' Anakin grumbled as he came up next to her, viewing the damage for himself.
'Your terrible flying skills.' Ahsoka laughed, knowing the remark would annoy him.
'My flying skills are not-' he sighed. 'Come on, we can't fly this thing back.' Ahsoka shook her head, still silently laughing, and trotted after him across the roof.
'Aren't you going to call Obi-Wan and ask him to pick us up?'
'Obi-Wan is on a mission... As is everyone else who would willingly rescue me from this situation.' She laughed as Anakin pouted.
'So how are we going to get back to the Temple?'
'Well, we can't steal a speeder, because we're Jedi... And I'm not buying one, so I guess we'll take the train.'
Ahsoka visibly slouched at his answer. She's only been on the Coruscant train system a couple of times; the most recent when her lightsaber had been stolen, which was a highly unpleasant experience. Anakin gently nudged her.
'Hey, it's not that bad.' She shrugged.
'I guess... But do trains even run at this hour? And where is the nearest station?' Anakin snorted.
'Of course they run at this hour. You forget which planet we're on. And it shouldn't be too far...'Anakin's definition of 'shouldn't be too far' was the most inaccurate thing Ahsoka had heard all day. They walked for about a standard hour before finally reaching a station, at which point Ahsoka felt her legs would give in beneath her. She'd threatened to her Master on numerous occasions throughout the walk that she would collapse and die if they didn't reach a station soon, but he simply laughed and continued walking, forcing her to catch up to him.
'Alright... We should be good...' Ahsoka let out what must have been her thousandth groan today as Anakin grabbed their tickets from the machine, waving them in front of her face. 'Look, Snips! Train tickets!' She sarcastically clapped, then followed him to the platform. To Ahsoka's complete and utter dismay, the next train wasn't due in for another standard half hour. She collapsed into one of the chairs on the platform, and Anakin took a seat next to her.
'Well, Ahsoka, today has been a very good teacher of patience.' Ahsoka eyed him sceptically, before her eyes widened in realisation.
'You.. You did this on purpose, didn't you?!' Anakin couldn't help but laugh at her exasperated expression.
'Maybe. Maybe not.' Ahsoka slouched back into her seat, rubbing her forehead.
'You're the impossible one.' She muttered, referring to their earlier conversation. Anakin grinned at her before allowing his eyes to wander, taking in his surroundings.A few moments later, he felt a weight on his shoulder, and looked down in surprise. Ahsoka's head was resting on his shoulder, and she was asleep. Anakin couldn't help but chuckle at his young Padawan; she really was a character.
