Tara
I brushed my thin dirty blond hair and scraped it into a ponytail. I sighed as I looked into the mirror to see me wearing my comfy old jeans and t-shirt. I checked my watch and flopped on the bed. I didn't want to go to high school in some random town in the USA. I wanted to be back in Ireland with my friends wearing a school uniform not in my normal clothes.
I closed my eyes and wished that when I open them I'd be in my bed in Ireland. I opened my eyes and sure enough I was still in America.
I heard the school bus pull up outside and grabbed my bag and went down stairs. I hopped on to the bus and sat on an empty chair.
I didn't know anyone even though I spent the whole of the summer here. Maybe that was because I stayed in my room refusing to come out no matter how many neighbours wanted to say hi.
When we finally got to this big brick building surrounded by kids.
I was at high school.
I groaned as I got off the bus. I wasn't sure what to do so I sat on a bench and took out a book and pretended to read.
I scanned the people scattered around the school. A girl with black hair full of tangles plopped on the bench next to me.
"Hi." She said smiling.
