Willow~~~~~~~
Sitting down in my chair in Physics, I laughed some more inwardly when I thought about Tara's face when she got out of the car. I had forgotten to tell her that I drove like a maniac. Oops. The weather had just began to get a little chilly, so I wore my favorite sweater tunic and skinnies. Wiggling in my seat, I pulled out my notebook and a mechanical pencil to start taking notes, as there were only a couple of minutes left in class.
Just before the bell rang, I heard someone slide into the desk just to the left of me. Nicely done, I thought.
"You got stuck in this class too, huh?" They asked.
"Yup, I sure did," I said, before turning to see who it was. If my mouth didn't literally fall open, it sure felt like it.
"When I switched to honors, I pretty much prayed to every god imaginable I wouldn't get this old broad. Guess you could say I'm atheist now," He replied.
"Mmhm," I agreed. "What made you switch anyways?"
"Well, when my teacher assigned a get-to-know-you poster that had to be made out of construction paper and stickers, I knew I was in the wrong class," He explained. "Oh, I'm Aiden, by the way."
"Ah, the level of education in this country. And I know, we've gone to school together since freshman year. I'm Willow," I answered. While he may be a newly converted atheist, I became a born-again Jesus freak. Only divine intervention could make this work of living art sit next to me.
"Freshman year, huh? Well I feel like a jerk, it's been three years and I haven't really learned your name," He admitted. 'Be cool, Willow', I thought to myself.
"Eh, no big deal. You know it now," I said, smiling.
"Okay class, quiet now. You've signed up for the hardest science class you will probably ever take, so socializing can wait until after the important things are taken care of," Ms. Geddie said, staring pointedly at us. We smirked at each other and started taking notes over what the living raisin was writing on the board.

"So," I began, dropping my cafeteria tray on the table. "How was your second day?"
"It was, well, mostly good. I expected America to be all clique-y and nonsense. You know, Mean Girls and Clueless crap."
"Well, thankfully this isn't a corny 90's movie, and there's no druggie ginger," I replied, smiling. "But why the 'mostly'? Does school start at 10 there or something?"
"Haha, I wish. It's not really that big of a deal, anyways. About what I expected."
I stared blankly at her.
"Tell me, or I will drive you home," I threatened.
