I'll pick you up at seven! Don't even think of backing out Bailey!" Vanessa warned from the other line.

"Yeah yeah," I grumbled, "Wouldn't want to miss getting wasted and possibly impregnated tonight."

It was already Friday and we were chatting on the phone about Keegan's party later. The girls and I had already gone shopping the day before to choose our outfits. Unfortunately, Vanessa thought that the most appropriate attire for tonight was the shortest and most revealing clothes we could find. When she suggested that I wear a micromini skirt with a backless halter and the front barely covered, I put my foot down.

Sad to say, putting my foot down hadn't really worked with her and she continued to the cash register even after I whined like a baby. What did work though was tackling her to the ground right before she took out her mastercard.

After getting the wind knocked out of her she put the clothes back and we picked out something less slutty, though not completely innocent since I still had my 'finally-get-the-love-of-my-life-to-notice-me mission' to accomplish.

"Everthing's going to be fine, buddy. Dominic's totally blind if he doesn't notice you while looking as hot as you will later. Trust me."

I sighed. "I hope you're right, Ness. Else, I'll make a fool out of myself."

"Not going to happen. Hey, I'll talk to you later. I still need to curl my hair. Make your makeup pretty and be ready at seven!" Nessa reminded before she hung up.

I put my cellphone on my dresser right around the same time my stomach started grumbling. The monster was hungry again. Deciding on a ham sandwich, I made my way downstairs to the kitchen where my mom and dad were flirting by the sink.

I was times like these when I knew it would get a little rated-PG if I didn't interrupt.

"Gross. Can you two get a room?" I made a face at the lovey-dovey scene before me, "Or maybe just help me carve my eyes out."

Instead of any hint of embarrassment at being caught by their daughter, my parents just looked at me with amusement.

"Careful with how you speak, sweetheart. I might just go into details of the night we made you through our unbridled passion." My mom threatened.

My dad laughed and kissed her on the temple. "That was a great night, honey."

"Eeew. Please don't mom. That would just be... traumatic...." I cringed while they continued to laugh.

As much as the idea of them knocking boots spurred on my gag-reflexes, I knew that what they had was the kind of love and marriage I wanted for myself. Sometimes when I saw how my mom and dad would stare at each other I understood immediately that they were talking with their eyes. And I knew that if what they were speaking through eyes could be translated into words... they would be saying 'I love you'.

That's how Dominic looked outside the hospitaI.

As I continued to reminice, I failed to notice that another member of the family had showed up.

"Thanks baby sis." my big brother Anthony popped out from behind me and took a bite of the sandwich I had barely started on, "I'm starving."

I smacked him on the arm, "Give it back. Why don't you make your own, you leech."

"No can do. Going out on a date, don't have time. Later!" he called out as he exited the room just as quickly as he came.

Geez. It looked like I didn't have time either as it was aready five-thirty and I needed to get ready myself. I just prayed that my empty stomach wouldn't get me drunk at the party. I hopped off the kitchen counter and ran to take a shower. Afterwards, I caked my face with .mosturizer and applied a dark shade of eyeshadow that would bring out a hint of blue in my gray eyes. I finished off with my cherry lipbalm before donning on my clothes.
