I got dressed in my favorite outfit the one meant for duels. I slip on my black Suit not a pants suit but a skin suit made of a thick material.
I rush down the stairs to the dueling room but stop just outside the doors. Inside I heard the voices of prince Ace and Nottingham. From it sounds like there arguing over me?
So burst into the room and the princes stop arguing and Nottingham bowed politely then quickly left the room.
Ace looked a bit surprised at my entrance but his disappear as quickly as it came. A smile crept up on his face Reminding me of the jester not a lot a tiny bit though.
We begin with first stance...
He asked me a question before the duel "I heard you fought the joker" he said coolly
"That is true Ace but I am not proud of it" I said quietly
"Why not princess?"
He questioning me
"Because he lost family and I humiliated " I say with growing sadness on my face
"I see, was he honorable in battle?"
He asked
"Not very, but he knew what he was doing I can tell you that. And from that one battle I could tell he was quick witted and fast" I say glumly
"I see, perhaps we should start the duel
Your highness " he said with a bit of a smile. I could tell he was satisfied with my answer.
"You know you can just call me Rose, not anything fancy" I say
"Ok, shall we begin the battle"
He said calmly
We get in the right positions. We look straight into each other's eyes as a sign of respect. I can see determination in his eyes. We wait 10 seconds like the rules say, I start with a lunge and he blocks my move with his sword. For a split second I thought I see a cut on this other hand. I try to cut his side but he blocks the blow with an iron guard. Then he try's to cut my shoulder but I make an empty fade. He moves so swiftly I almost didn't see him. He came behind me and knocked me down.
"Do you surrender Rose"
He says with his usual smile
"I surrender Ace"
I say smiling a real smile for once
"Thank you for the delightful battle Ace, you were wonderful on the battlefield who did you get so good?"
I ask
"Well I have had a lot of practice as for you I don't know what to say that was amazing you have excellent sword man ship" he says
"Would you like to go to the garden or library some time"I asked bashfully
"I would love too Rose"he said with a smile
