Chapter 12

I ran downstairs after hearing my name be called by my mom several times.

"Yes mother?" I asked impatiently

"Your cousin Kimberly is coming to stay with us for a week."

I froze when she said Kimberly. Kimberly and I used to be best friends. Nothing came between us, but that was until she began telling my friends lies about me. She told them I've slept with all of their boyfriends or that I used them to get boys and I actually hated them all. In the end I lost all my friends and my best friend. Since then we have been enemies, but of course we couldn't  let our parents know that. We acted exactly like we used to in front of our parents so they assumed nothing was wrong.

I stayed frozen without listening to anything my mom was saying.

"Sophie? Did you her anything I just said?"

"Umm yeah, right on it mom."I replied and ran back upstairs.

Once I reached my room I texted Hayes  to try and face time him.

To: Hayes 💕❤️😍

Hey baby, can you ft rn? 😘

I waited patiently for a minute or two before I saw the three dots meaning he was typing.

And with that I turned of my phone and face planted straight into my pillow. I screamed loudly for a long time but luckily it was muffled by my pillow.

"Hayes! Come down here for a sec!" I heard my dad call. I walked down the stairs and sat down on one of the stools by the island.

"Your cousin Ryan is coming to stay with us for a few days."

"Ok." I replied emotionlessly, remembering the feud between the both of us.

Ryan and I never got along well. He always tried to one up me, and tried to be better than me. He always blamed everything he did on me and he would get away with it.

I ran upstairs to my phone so I could face time Sophie and tell her about Ryan.

The phone began ringing until it finally said connecting... Letting me know that she answered the call. Sooner or later her face popped up on my screen with an angry expression.

"Hey baby what's wrong?" I asked her

"My cousin Kimberly is coming to stay with us for a week." She pouted

"What's wrong with Kimberly?" I asked

"Everything! She's so horrible. We used to be best friends and we did everything together, I introduced her to my friends and she would hang out with them behind my back. She began telling them horrible lies about me and I lost all of them, and Kimberly. We still have to act like we love each other in front our parents but we secretly want to rip each other's throats out."

I sat there a little speechless trying to comprehend what she had just told me.

"Well you know what? I have a cousin named Ryan coming over. We are kind of the same story but not exactly. We've  never really gotten along well. He always one ups me and takes everything away from me. He always blames me for everything and he gets away with everything he does."

"Ugh I feel you man." She said with a giggle

"What if he takes you away from me?"

"What if she takes you away from me?"

We both said at the same time. We giggled in sync once again.

"Okay. Let's promise this to each other. We won't let ourselves be taken away by our horrible cousins and we will always stay with each other." She said sincerely.

"Of course not." I replied.

"Ok then baby boy, I'm gonna hit the sack now." She said. I blushed at the nickname and smiled.

"Goodnight babygirl" I said and ended the call.

These are gonna be a long few days.
