After I spent an extra 30 minutes in the building trying to get out, I finally was out into the parking lot.

I settled into my car, staring at the card. My heart fluttered at the thought of seeing him.

Why was I acting like this?

I've always been a Democrat. But now I realize...

It isn't about politics. It's about the person behind them.

And at that thought, I drove off to my house to get ready.

I squeezed myself into the only dress I owned, praying that I wouldn't suffer from muffin top syndrome.

We all know Ted would like to eat my muffin, though.

I sprayed perfume on myself, before grabbing my bag, running out in a hurried fashion.

Ted Cruz was settled in one of the most high end hotels in the city.

What if the toilets were gold?

When I pulled up to the hotel, I almost cried at how beautiful it was.

Some stupid kid came up and knocked on my window.

I rolled it down, looking at him. Turns out he was a valet.

"May I take your car?" He said, his voice cracking. I cringed, nodding because I didn't want to hear him speak again.

I got out, handing him my keys. My nasty Prius looked obsolete compared to the other cars in the lot.

I walked into the revolving doors of the hotel, the door almost smacking me in the face.

I looked at the lady sitting behind the desk, smiling. My stomach was a bundle of nerves, jolting uncomfortably.

I briskly walked into the elevator, pressing the button and waiting.

It seemed like an eternity before it let me out on his floor.

I walked down the hallway, stopping at his room. Well, maybe it was his room. I forgot the number.

I knocked on the door lightly.

The door opened, and it revealed the man himself.

Ted Cruz.
