As soon as I said my name, me and Felix were transported to a large city. A broken city..

Windows were smashed in, buildings half broken, and sirens roaring. "The capital. All of the elements work together to defeat it."

"What do you mean by 'elements'?" I asked.
"Well it's rather simple." Felix said folding his arms "You chose the Earth element to be a part of. The other elements are sun, fire, and water. So we work together to defeat Malacath. Evil. Pure evil. He's evil in human form."

I got chills. Am I sent here to destroy Malacath? If so.. Why me? I had so many questions roaring through my head.

"So.. What if I had chosen another element?" I asked "well.. You wouldn't have. Your fate is already decided even before you come to Lumi. But if you had, I wouldn't be your partner, your powers would be different, and..."

His face turned blood red. Almost like he was about to cry,
"And we couldn't save the world." His voice started to crack and slow down.

Felix pointed behind him towards the city. "You see that? That's the destruction of thousands of descendants who have all died. You are a descendant. I don't want you to end up like them... I've seen too many die."

"Don't cry." I said firmly. I felt bad for him, in the short amount of time I had known him, it seemed as if we were siblings.. Best friends..

"Oh right where was I?" Felix said holding his head up focusing on clearing out the tears. "Descendants are brought to Lumi through who their guide is. The Earth guide is the storms. They feel you can stop Malacath and everything happening. But you need some training first... Follow me."

Felix and I started down the hills closer towards the city. "Shh.. Go through the blue building to your right." Felix said.

The building was a dusty blue color, but almost looked gray from the ash and smoke surrounding the city.

Me and Felix stepped into the building. It appeared to be an abandoned coffee shop. Chairs were turned over, posters ripped down, and stains on the wooden floors. It looked almost as bad as the boys' locker room back at the school. But I tried as hard as I could to not think about the real world.

"Open the hatchet." Felix said pointing to a trap door hidden behind the corner. It was barely noticeable. I couldn't see the handle until I got really close to it. I opened it, it seemed to be a very narrow pit with gray sides.

"I.. I don't think it's safe." I said. "Do you think I'd lie?" He said staring me in the eye. We had a long look-into-your-eyes kind of moment. Almost like me and Jacob had... Before.. All of this.

I rolled my eyes "fine." I crept into the hole, I grabbed the ladder as tightly as I could and started to go down. The more I went down it got hotter and hotter. Almost like a furnace.

We then reached the bottom.

It was amazing. A huge dome with dirt floors and a dirt ceiling, fire flies lighting up the room, mineral clumps everywhere, and countless creatures. Rock men and women, elves, pretty much everything in fairytales were in this room. It was incredible.

All of the creatures turned and looked at me and Felix. I started to panic. "Don't worry." He said. "Everyone! Please welcome our new descendant, Paige!"

All of them bowed and started clapping. Some even crying.

"Before we begin this new Era in earths history, let us take a minute to remember our loved last descendant that lost his life two months ago." Felix and everyone else circled a coffin. "Jacob Ramseus will be remembered."

That's when my legs and chest felt weak. Jacob Ramseus was my best friend. He IS my best friend. This can't be!

"E-excuse me." I said squeezing my way to the coffin.

That was him.. Jacob.. My best friend .. Gone..

Everyone was silent.. Everyone but me..
