Everything seemed to be in slow motion. So slow, it looked like nothing was happening.

"Casandra?" I asked.

Nothing.

I walked up to Jacob. I seemed to be the only one who could actually move at a normal pace.

"Jacob!?"

Nothing.

That's when I felt a huge pain in my chest. Like someone had taken a sword and stabbed it through my chest as slow and as painful as they could.

My legs felt like they weighted a ton. So much so that I couldn't bare it.

That's when I felt a ringing in my ear and everything went black.

Everything.

Everyone else seemed to be fine.. Everyone but me.

I'm always the one who has bad things happen to. If someone falls, I'm the one who ends up hurt or bleeding.
Not them.

I've never been able to figure out why. It's like I have some extremely bad karma.

After what seemed like 0.1 seconds later, I woke up in a red room with golden chairs, a blue trim and a green bed. There were no doors or windows.

I got up and walked around the room.

Red, like fire.
Gold, like the sun.
Blue like the ocean.
Green like the Earth.

After I had figured his out, one of the walls became a field. Not a normal field. A field in which all my fears were in. Lava, killers with golden cloaks on, Sharks, and tornadoes. Behind all of this was my mom.

Paige. I heard. You Choose. Fire, sun, water, or earth. Only one will lead you to victory. The others will lead to a vicious death.

What could this mean? Where was I? Could this possibly be the last place I'd ever be in?

Nothing else happened. It remained the same as it had before. Nothing showed up, nothing left.

"Mom!" I yelled. "I cannot help you. You must choose fire, sun, water, or earth. For you are the only one who can help yourself. I can't help you. Go with your mind. Good luck." And she disappeared like dust in the wind.

I had to think hard and fast about what I wanted.

What was my experience with fire? When I was 8, our house burnt down because mom left a candle lit while we were gone. That couldn't be the right one.

Sun, I had no experience with the sun, except awful sunburns. No. That couldn't be it.

Water, I love swimming, but I get sick and tired of it after awhile.

Earth, I had no experience with the earth. Other than the fact I love journaling outside. It gives me my greatest ideas. That's it! My greatest ideas come to me when I'm outside, that means nature can make me wiser and make me realize things and react quicker.

Four jewels popped up on pillars Infront of my fears. A red jewel, a yellow jewel, a blue jewel, and a green jewel.

I had to pick one.

One that would change me forever.
